I don't have a problem with exterior room entrances, if you do, look elsewhere. Otherwise, this hotel is in a very nice section of Portland, with Washington Park about 5 blocks away, and the shopping/eating blocks along NW 21st and NW 23rd street's very close by. From the hotel, it takes about 5 minutes to get to some unique and nice restaurants, shops, plus micro brewery's. There are 3 micro brew places within a mile of the hotel (New Old Lompoc, NW Laurel House, and Ram's Head). Our room (#403) had a sitting area with a TV, couch, an equipped kitchenette, and a separate bedroom with TV. The only problem was the mega low flow shower that felt like you were trying to shower at a water fountain. I am all for water conservation, but the shower head took it to levels I have never seen. I am not one to really take advantage of a continental breakfast, and this one held to that notion. Although, it was nice to at least have the option to snag a bagel or grab a cup of OJ before heading out in the morning. There is one close bus stop and a close MAX stop at King/Salmon. The one free parking spot was nice, also, for the night we did have a car. I am glad I stayed here, rather than downtown, as it allows an opportunity to experience the local neighborhood.

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. It was a pleasant surprise from every perspective. The staff was very flexible and accommodating. Initially I asked for a studio but when they didn't have one for all nights they offered an upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite at the same price. This worked out very well as one of us doesn't like air conditioning and only the living room had a unit. So we closed the door in between the bedroom and the living room and everyone was happy. The rooms were very clean, spacious and well equipped. The beds (including the sofa bed in the living room) were comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and in very good condition. In the middle of our stay it got very hot in Portland so we decided to go for one night to the beach. Again the staff changed the reservation (thank you Alex !) and when we returned we had our prior suite back. The hotel has free parking which is great convenience if you have a car. The location is good, on a quiet street, close to public transportation and many attractions in Portland. A standard breakfast was included (served in the lobby of the hotel). Overall we were very pleased with this hotel.

This being my third time staying at Park Lane Inn - I just love this place. Its in a gem of a location, just off of Burnside - a couple blocks from the busy streets of 21st and 23rd in NW area. The Hotel is renovated and very classy for a motor inn type hotel. The suites are typically one bedroom suites with kitchenettes and large living room area with pull out sofa beds.
Theres air conditioners in all units which is actually quite nice during the hotter months of July & Aug. The front desk staff are always helpful and friendly, and theres always water, tea and cookies on hand in the front room. Not to mention a pretty generous continental breakfast in the morning.
Compared to comparable places like Jupiter, Ace hotel and Mark Spencer, for price and value - the Park Lane Suites always wins.

We stayed for 2 nights in May. When we arrived we were a little apprehensive, how wrong could we be. The gentleman checking us in, I think his name was Beau, red/ginger hair, hope that is politically correct! was extremely helpful all through our visit, as were other people on the front desk, it is just that we dealt with him most, on places to visit, drink and eat.
The hotel has a good location, you are 10 minutes from the centre of Portland via the tram system, You also have 2 streets full of bars, restaurants, shopping within a 2-3 minute walk.
The rooms were very good, a kitchen, lounge and seperate bedroom, with a TV in so you can hear the sport when in the shower!
If we return to Portland, hopefully in the near future, this is where we will stay!!!

Great place !!!! We stayed there from May 17th -21st. Truly is like a small apartment. Got to Portland at it was too early to check in but the young man at the desk was kind enough to keep our luggage while we went exploring for a while. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Great location to a lot of stores to pick up snacks etc. Will stay there gain next time were in Portland.
