Excellent location in a lovely town. The hotel is in a super position in the old town, but the room was at the back and right at the bottom of the hotel, down steep dark stairs, and was dark and gloomy with little storage space. The shower leaked every time we used it - we were there for a week and nothing was done about it. Breakfast was basic, with reconstituted "juice" and little fresh produce - and the evening meal wasn't brilliant either... but we still love Spoleto!

We booked a trip to spoleto on freinds advice and had a quite lovely time over three days. The room we had was the second one we looked at and it was beautiful. Old-style room with big windows, shutters and a large fireplace, a lovely bathroom. with a massive basin! The staff were very helpful and friendly, but admittedly the breakfast left a lot to be desired, saying that the location was superb and you could get breakfast in a number of cafes in the main square.

Clitunno didn't quite hit the spot

The Clitunno looks the part, and has a lot of potential, but our experience there was disappointing. Our room was tired (with very little storage space), the hot water supply was unreliable until Day 4 of the holiday, and the breakfasts are really not good. Everything served at breakfast seemed to be the cheapest possible - fruit juice so sweet it was virtually undrinkable, cheap cereals in stupid dispensers, tinned fruit salad and very little in the way of fresh fruit (until an American group arrived.) Tea or coffee was provided in urns and there were no decaff options available. We had dinner twice in the restaurant - on the first occasion the meal was just awful but it improved on the second, after our group leader had complained on our behalf to the management. The bar (if you could get anyone to serve you) never seemed to be able to offer a full range of drinks and ran out of things normally considered to be standard.
Apparently some rooms have been revamped and have flatscreen tv with English channels, minibar, Kleenex, and shower cubicles that don't leak. We didn't have one of these rooms ...
Spoleto itself is a lovely town. There's a lot of renovation work going on which does impinge sometimes, but it doesn't detract too much from the character of the town.

Room storage space small and falling apart. Shower in poor condition. Meals variable - good some nights , bad others.
Friendly staff. Pleasant public rooms.
Lots of nearby construction work so be prepared to be woken at 6:15 a.m.!
