My husband and I recently went to Kansas City to see Wicked. We chose the Hotel Savoy because it was a short walk to the Music Hall. Upon check-in we were upgraded to the nicest room in the hotel. The room was beautiful The living room had a flat screen TV with 12 foot ceilings. There were complimentary cookies and snacks available. There were 1 and a half baths. The king size bed was a little firm. But the furnishings were beautiful and the quilt on the bed was gorgeous. We had over 20 items to choose from for breakfast. The first day we had lobster bisque to start, eggs benedict, bacon and crab crepes plus coffee, fresh fruit, muffins and juice. The next day we had omelets with beef medallions and fresh cinnamon rolls. This was included in the price (~$105 per night). The staff was wonderful, too. The hotel is close to the Power Light district and there are many restaurants and bars nearby. We used the Max bus service to go to the Plaza. It was a great weekend and we highly recommend the Hotel Savoy.

My dad stayed at the Savoy at the end of October. Their front desk staff was courteous, helpful and, extremely honest. My dad reported that he signed some traveler's checks, left the front desk & was called a few minutes later to tell him he left one too many!
The place is quite old, but well-maintained. Prices are extremely decent...I think we paid around $99 a night for a lovely room. The meals are something to 'write home about'. The breakfasts are sumptuous, generous and delicious. People come from miles around just for the meals at the Savoy.
Highly recommended & would come back in a heartbeat.

We stayed for 2 nights last week and were thoroughly impressed. Be warned that the hotel is being renovated. Things may not sparkle the way they do in the chain hotels, but the charm and history of this building, along with the dedication of the staff make up for any visual shortcomings. We had a beautiful real suite with a full size sitting area separate from the bedroom. The bathroom was spotless and the clawfoot tub was greatly enjoyed. When was the last time a hotel sent up freshly made cookies and ice to your room for no reason? There was also free wireless internet, full cable, and a newspaper at your door in the morning. The breakfast was out of this world. You ordered what you wanted the night before from a menu which looked more like dinner choices than breakfast. What a feast!! We will be back.

We arrived late and the place was scarey at midnight. The air was terrible in the hallways--with no ventilation it was hot and stuffy. The room though was magnificent and the breakfast was unbelievable and included. When was the last time you had lobster bisque soup and a huge lamb chop with your eggs in a sit down breakfast for three. Yes, the building probably needs to be torn down, but the rooms were so splendid and the whole venue so historical that I hope the rennovations continue instead. The price was certainly reasonable considering the free parking and incredible breakfast.
