I will never stay here again. Our family vacation this year was to Jacksonville, and in researching hotels we came across this one. It seemed appealing because of the stove, refrigerator and microwave, as sometimes we like to bring a few groceries back to the room to cook if someone gets hungry after we are in for the night. When we got to the room, I first noticed that it wasn't especially clean. Not unliveable, but like the staff didn't spend too much time on cleaning it. By this time it was sort of late and we were tired so we figured that it would be cleaned with the daily cleaning in the AM. WRONG!!! We left the hotel that morning at 10 am to sightsee and when we came back 12 hours later NOTHING had been touched. No trash dumped, no nothing. Upon calling the front desk we learned that rooms were only cleaned upon request. Not even new towels or a fresh roll of toilet paper. We went and purchased toilet paper and carpet freshner because the carpet smelled sour. The worst was when we started to see roaches. This was by far the worst part of my vacation and I will NEVER stay here again!!!

I booked this hotel online for a 16 day stay. My husband and I arrived, checked into the hotel and instead of using the credit card we decided to pay cash for the entire stay. The person behind the counter told us the total for the 16 days and gave us a receipt.
On our 14th day we go out to dinner and come back to find our room is locked and we are unable to gain access. We go downstairs and we are told we owe for the 15th and 16th day! The person behind the counter who I can only assume has a really low IQ cannot explain why we weren’t charged the FULL amount the day we checked in!
In the entire 16 days we did not have a single person come to our room for housekeeping, we had to take out our own trash, and buy cleaning products to clean the room.
Other than that...this hotel is CHEAP and if you don't care about NOT having fresh towels, toilet paper, roaches, or not having a clean room...this hotel is for you.

Say No to Sun Suites in Jacksonville FL (Baymeadows)
Guest name: cmblue09, Hahira GA
Extremely bad experience, would not recommend to anyone especially my worst enemy! Upon arrival was greeted by 2 "Sun Suites" employees that couldn't have cared less about checking us in...very non-professional to say the least....took 1 full hour. The "security guard"/front desk man, stated he couldn't find where our reservation had been made or confirmed (STRIKE 1). After about 45 minutes, I asked if they had wireless and was told yes. At that time, I retrieved my laptop from my vehicle, accessed hotels.com and showed him my reservation confirmation. He then checked me into Room 236. Upon opening the door to the room, a roach ran out the front and my wife was taken aback by the bug (STRIKE 2). Additionally, upon bringing the bags to the room, I went to get drinks for my wife and myself. Upon returning to the room, my wife was standing outside with a couple. The gentleman had used his key to get into the room checked out for us (STRIKE 3). I then packed up the car, went down the road and checked into the Homewood Suites ran by Hilton (highly recommend).
