Went online looking for a place to stay for a quick get away. Everything in the city booked or too expensive. Booked through Orbitz. A little older than pictures show. Not as clean as we would have liked, but we didn't see any bugs. Overall, 60 bucks got me a decent bed, stove, frig,microwave and a toilet that flushed. The best part is its a twenty minute drive to warm warter and a beautiful sunset.

this place was horrible! i hate it. I hate it. i hate it. we first wanted a non-smoking room and they gave us a smoking room. A bunch of people who can't get their paper work right. then the second room they gave us, had a clean room but dirty restroom. it had baby roaches. i kill one and then you would see another one. then the third room i stayed in they never came by to pick up the dirty towel or even take out the trash. The place to began was filthy. i just stayed here because i moved down from houston. Also they locked us out everytime because they lost our paper work and its not like we didnt pay.

I made a reservation 3 days prior to my stay on 5/31/08, all I needed was a room for one night. I requested one room w/double beds, non-smoking. They had plenty of rooms for Saturday night but only smoking. The clerk advised she would give me two rooms with queen size beds if that was alright w/me, which it was. We had a graduation ceremony to attend mid-morning and after lunch about 2pm(which is check-in time) I called to confirm our rooms were ready and they told me it would be 3pm before they were ready, they were full last night. So we went to my brother's to kill time and about 5:10 started back to the hotel when I received a call from the hotel advising they only had one room/one bed for me because they had folks from the night before wanting to stay another night, so they GAVE MY ROOM UP!!! I was talking to the Gen.Mgr herself and no valid excuse other than their guest wanted to stay another night. Needless to say I was livid, we were able to get into another hotel but I could not believe Sun Suites practice of ethics when a customer gives them personal financial information (credit card#) for reservations and they cannot even guarantee a your reservation. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE! Rude, non-professional staff!!

There are too many hotels in Corpus Christi - to even BOTHER staying here! We had a/c problems, unknown HAIR in the shower/tub floor, sheets and pillows that smelled like cigarettes. The worst was the cricket that got in the a/c vent outside and began chirping at 4am. we called countless times to the "night attendant" to find there is NO ONE! So we left countless messages, and NOTHING. No one even called us back!! At 7:45am I went downstairs to the front desk to wait for someone. when I told them of my night - they said that there are crickets everywhere. I said "Not in lodged in a/c vents!" He didn't apologize, and was rude. I got the feeling that no one really cared about you - once they took your money. It was a horrible experience - one I do not want anyone to go through.

We only needed to stay one night. We arrived around 11pm and checked out 12 hours later. It showed signs of age but was not gross to be in. We saw no bugs. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was clean. We used the fridge to hold our water and milk (for next mornings cereal) and used the microwave to heat up late night leftovers the 1st night. The little table is only big enough for 2 people and is attached to the wall so we had to move the chairs so we could sit and see TV while we ate! I would recommend this place if you were staying 1 or 2 nights max. The price was good for what we got/needed.
