My company sends me to this hell hole every time we have to go to Birmingham. Its CHEAP but the reason the prices are so low is because they don't clean worth a [--]. Good luck getting to sleep with doors slamming and people yelling. But if your looking for a hooker you don't have to go to far. BTW wear a pair of flip flops in the room.

I should have listened to the other reviews. My room was on the third floor over a guest who has been living there since 2005. She does not like when you are moving in because she beats on the floor when you are moving around trying to unpack. I walked on the floor sock footed and with in 10 min, they were black from the dirty floor. I bought a mop and passed it three times with Lysol and the water was still flithy. I also mopped the carpet which was full of burn marks. The curtains has holes in them. Yes, I too had a roach visit not sure if it had friends. I was in a non smoking room but with the help of lysol and air freshner I could stand it. My friends also spent the week and had their workbox broken into and all of their tools were stolen. To be fair I will also leave a good comment for the front desk staff ,they were very nice and helpful, one lady left us the information they we needed on our answer machine. I will also say that the bed was comfortable after we had been working 11 hrs for several days. The outside does not look bad but maybe with some work the inside could look the same.

We came to Alabama from Illinois to attend the Nascar race in Talladega. As soon as we turned into the parking lot of Sun Suites, we thought it didn't look bad. BOY WERE WE WRONG! This hotel is the WORST hotel my husband and I ever stayed in! The floors were discusting! I wouldn't walk in my bare feet on those floors! There was hair all over the tub (and I mean ALL kinds of hair). There were no amenities such as soap, shampoo, and there was a sign saying, "if you need more towels, you will be CHARGED!" The most horrific thing at this hotel though is... they have COCKROACHES! We saw them the day we left. We were scared to death to return our luggage back home, so we had to make sure and shake everything out before we entered our home! To sum up, I think the Bates Motel would be a palace compared to this dump!!! My advice... DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT!

My boyfriend had to work in Alabama and I was visiting from overseas. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side but adequate, bed was clean and comfortable. Same can be said of the kitchen. I was able to cook a nice meal for three on a few occassions. I felt this hotel was good value for money with good amenities close by.

When my husband and I first pulled into the parking lot the building seemed to be clean and inviting! Well, all changed when we went to the front desk! The person checking us in was rude and rushed us through our checkin to continue on with her "phone" conversation! We let that slide and went up to the room! At first glance it seemed to be ok! Then we got to looking around and it looked as if the room hadn't been cleaned since the place had opened! There was mold in the kitchen, bathroom, dust everywhere, and the carpet seemed to be stained with who knows! I would not even sit on the toilet, sleep on the sheets, or walk in that place without my socks on! The remote did not work, we called for maintence, the water was foul! Need I go on? To sum things up...rude, uninviting, disgusting, and in one word HORRIBLE!
