I've stayed at the Inn on the Alameda on two separate occasions; once last august and then again this past march. Both times, I left more than satisfied. The rooms, while nothing extraordinary, where always very clean and nicely decorated; keeping in touch with that new mexican vibe. However, the thing I appreciated most was the service. From the moment I called to make my reservations, the staff was always kind and helpful. Even when my girlfriend and I were trying to decide a good place to eat, the staff was not only patient and full of good information, but they made the reservation for us so we never had to lift a finger. Also, the hotel is within walking distance to the downtown area and canyon road, which is a huge plus because parking can become scarce.
Overall, I believe this is a great place to stay while visiting Santa Fe. I don't think I could ever even debate staying somewhere else, because I believe I would only be disappointed in comparison.

We've stayed here three times so we obviously like it. It's a beautiful property and a great location. But I wish they'd have decent coffee instead of translucent brown water, and I wish they'd have a protein at breakfast other than those frittatas (or however they're spelled). One morning out of three they had hard-boiled eggs. Please guys - don't make me stay somewhere else!

We just got back on the 13th of July from Santa Fe and this was our first time at the Inn on the Alameda. We were not disappointed. Our room was very comfortable and also very clean.
We were in a deluxe king room and had a gas fireplace which we enjoyed quite a bit. It was so easy to use: just flick on a switch! Although it was July, it got a little chilly at night. Even so, there wasn't much heat coming from the fireplace, rather it added to the atmosphere.
The breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese are not to be missed!
Our only complaint was that the wine and cheese was from four to five pm and we would sometimes miss it if we were still in town. Very nice, though.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again.

We were impressed that this small hotel was Number 1, and it deserves its rating. This was my first time in Santa Fe, and I was genuinely pleased with the front desk concierge service, and the hotel's cleanliness and comfortable atmosphere.
We chose to get an upgraded room with a fireplace and small patio. It had a tree view and faced the parking lot, which was quiet. The room had a refrigerator, beautifully made bed and authentic comfortable and soothing atmosphere. It had a Mexican tiled bath area and plenty of towels and personal products. There was a telephone message in our room from the front desk that welcomed us and asked if their was anything else we needed.
Later, I found I needed a toothbrush, and it was delivered as promised.
Their buffet breakfasts were nicely prepared with quality ingredients, your choice of juice, cereals, hard boiled eggs, breakfast quiche or frittata, fruit, nice baked goods and coffee and tea. It was well presented, and there is a light filled dining area for breakfast as well as complimentary wine and cheese tasting from 4 to 5 p.m.
I felt like we received value by staying at this Inn and appreciated their professional, experienced staff who made our hotel stay a lovely one. I will recommend it to anyone who wants to stay within walking distance of town without the noise and activity of a Plaza Square hotel.

Very nice accomodations. Rooms were beautiful and extremely comfortable. The grounds are well landscaped and attractive although the view from the rooms our parties occupied were not noteworthy (we had the parking lot).
A little further walk from the Plaza than I anticipated but still wasn't that bad. Just around the corner and an easy walk to Canyon Drive to visit the multitude of artist studios.
The continental breakfast was outstanding and the best I have ever had. Exceptional frittata and pastries. The complimentary afternoon wine tasting with cheeses and fruits was a treat.
