Stayed here for 4 nights recently after escaping the torrential rain of the North! We were backpacking across Italy at the time and had brought with us our soaking wet tent! Thankfully regardless of our appearance the staff were friendly and even let us hang our tent to dry in the cellar! Room was ok, but bathroom was a bit dated. Hotel is 5 mins from station and 10 mins to main areas. I would only recommend Bologna for a short stay, especially if you have visited other major Italian cities, as there isn't a huge amount to see!

Stayed here for just one night with 2 other people. We booked a triple room and were given one of the newly renovated apartments. The apartment was great, really clean and closer to the historic part of town than the main hotel building. Would recommend for a cheap and cheerful stopover.

Ho alloggiato in quest’hotel per una sola notte insieme ad altre 2 persone. Abbiamo prenotato una tripla e ci hanno assegnato uno degli appartamenti di recente ristrutturazione. Era semplicemente fantastico, perfettamente pulito e più vicino al centro storico rispetto all’edificio principale dell’hotel. Un posto economico e vivace, da consigliare per una breve sosta.

I had a very bad experience at Hotel Astoria. My beautiful jacket was stolen from me! For my overnight stay, I hung my jacket up in the wardrobe so it would not crease. The following day when I checked out, it was a very hot day so in a rush I forgot my jacket. That evening, I rang and spoke to the receptionist whom in turn checked with the chamber maid. This took a further 18 hours. I only got a response after ringing for the fourth time. I was shocked when she advised me that she did not find the jacket when she cleaned the room!! The receptionist said that a man stayed in the same room the following day so he could have taken it (I doubt it, I'm female). I was careless and I blame myself for it but staff at the hotel are untrustworthy and Management do not take complaints seriously. I received no apology ,compensation and their reaction was turtle like.

Run-down rooms, lousy cleaning, on and off (loud) air conditioning and a very meagre breakfast pretty much sum up this hotel. On the positive side it’s nicely situated on a quiet backstreet close to the city centre and the staff seems pleasant. Some rooms also had a balcony (not ours) which seemed nice. If you come by train it is very easy to find since there are street signs showing the way to the hotel. During our stay in Italy we stayed at four hotels which all cost pretty much the same, this one was without a doubt the worst.
