we transferred to this hotel our final night in florence after a/c problems at the B&B we had been booked at.
location wasn't quite as convenient as our initial B&B but it wasn't horribly out of the way nor were we disturbed by the bells in giotto's tower in the morning. overall, i preferred this location.
this is the 3rd hotel i've stayed at in florence and is by far the best. the rooms were much quieter and a little more luxurious than the other places i stayed in florence. the food offered for breakfast was also much better. prices were only slightly higher and certainly worth it.
the woman at the front desk was a sweetheart - she gave special attention to my 6 year old and gave him a tourist book about florence (published by disney for kids) so he could learn more about the city.
after the problems we had had at our previous hotel, moving to this hotel really made our final night in florence much better.
i would certainly stay here again next time i'm in florence.

Looking for a small, centrally located hotel in the historic area, we were thrilled upon our arrival in Florence to be greeted by courteous and helpful staff at the Hotel Botticelli. The room was comfortable and clean, the air conditioning nice and cool, the ensuite bathrooms large and convenient, and the complimentary breakfast tasty.
As we had many sights to see on our list, the location was perfectly situated within walking distance of all our destinations. I was able to contact the multi-lingual staff via e-mail prior to arrival and they were wonderful in assisting with other reservations. They went out of their way to help us track down the 'best pizza in Florence', and assisted with every detail such as coordinating train schedules (in English for us!) We felt very secure walking at any time to and from the hotel, and we loved greeting each morning in Florence by opening the shutters and listening to the bells of the cathedral.
We have recommended the hotel and its location to several friends, and look forward to returning soon. A wonderful hotel at just the right location and price.

We stayed six nights in this cute little hotel and were completely satisfied. The room wasn't large - after all, this is Italy! - but certainly adequate. And the bathroom was actually much bigger than usual. Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The three-star rating is well deserved.
As mentioned in other reviews, the location of this hotel couldn't be better for day trips around Florence. The Arno is a 10 minute walk which takes you straight past the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizzi, etc. And we found several fairly inexpensive restaurants with better-than-average food within a few blocks in any direction. The Mercato Centrale is also within five minutes by foot.
Our only minus (and a slight one) is the breakfast offerings. Breakfast isn't an important meal in Italy, but our feeling is if you're going to offer it, the quality should be acceptable - especially the coffee! Our suggestion - walk 1/2 block to a fabulous and cheap coffee place and buy your own.
Overall, we give this place a solid A.

Me and my partner stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It could not have been in a better location! Considering the very affordable price the room was clean, the bathroom large (with plenty of hot water) and the morning breakfast delightful. The only shortcomings were with the front desk staff. The male attendant was very hospitable but the two female staff members who work throughout the afternoon were extremely cold and unfriendly. Standing directly in front of them didn't even get a glance in our direction until we forced it. I do admit that they did their job but it was difficult for me not to make the assumption that maybe they were simply offended that we were a gay couple as they were always seemingly friendly to other guests. Regardless, the stay was enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel.
