this is a small motel ,note not a hotel at all ,it was built in the 70's & you can tell it,its not always a bad thing tho,the owner will go above& beyond to make sure your satisfied.he actually let me & my family check in 5 hours early for a small 10$ tip.after drive 500 + miles& getting to your room & being trapped in a car with 3 children thats a bargin.the hotel is kept nice by a single woman maid& she's there from dawn till dark cleaning& going out of her way to help you with anything that you might need from clean sheets& towels too directions to the local wal-mart.it is conviently on highway 98 pullout of the motel& hang a left& your headed towards every beach in panama city.the only reason i didnt give this place a 4 or 5 star rating was the neighbors was load,in& out of the rooms till way after 1am they were swimming in the pool& partying till early hours.i'm a not a partyier anymore, but if ya are this seems to be the place.& on the last night we were there we were awakened by a flood from where the guys upstairs were showering getting ready to go out,& it flooded the hall& bathroom.the owner offered us another room.but at 11 at night only a few hours from leaving we passed.so now you have a staight honest review.there is a fridge, microwave&killer ac.no coffeee maker so bring your own.

I have traveled the world and have stayed in accomodations in third world countries that were much better than this place. I have even camped in the wilderness and had fewer crawling critters to contend with. My family and I checked in very late the night of 3 July 2008 and left for the beach very early the next morning. Upon our return that evening we noticed what appeared to be roaches. Against our better judgement we decided to stick it out and stay the night. We were so exhausted from the days activities and had a five hour drive home we decided it would be best to fend of the insects instead of driving so late at night. The following morrning we immediately packed and checked out of the hotel after fighting off the feral cat that ran into our room. When we asked for a refund for the last day of the reservation, management refused. They claimed there was a three day minimum regardless of circumstance. Once we arrived home I called the hotel and asked to speak to the manager and the same person I spoke with on the day of our departure refused and claimed she could answer any questions or claims. Obviously I did not get the satisfaction I had been looking for. I would strongly suggest that you not stay at the Scottish Inn of Panama CIty, FL.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2008, my friend and I arrived at the Scottish Inn on Hwy 98, Florida and discovered that the housekeeping was horrible. The beds were not made, people throwing thrash and roaches. When we asked to cancel our reservations, they refused and had already charged the cost to my credit card. They were very unprofessional and charged a total of $139.00 without a reason. I was told that they would charge the cost of one night stay. I did not feel this was right since the housekeeping was horrible and the facility did not appear to be safe for two young teenage students. At the advice of our parents, we were told to move to another location. The refused sanitary accommodations and I refuse to pay but they had already charged the amount to my care. I have asked for a reimbursement but have unsuccessful. For college students, we could not afford to give away money. My mom tried to contact them several times, but no answer.
The Best!

As a member of the USD military, and a member of Triple A... I still got a better rate at Scottish Inns, Panama City Florida, than anywhere else. NOT even PRICELINE could touch these rates. We had a Ground Level Room, With Two double beds, Microwave, Full fridge w/freezer, cable tv, etc.... For ONE FULL WEEK, for $200.00. (Most rooms run 68-300.00 PER night! Not only were the rooms Clean, and Quiet... but the people who own and run this hotel are accomodating, and FRIENDLY! We are already planning another trip back, and wont stay anywhere else. We had never heard of this place, until I saw another review online... I am grateful to the author of that review. Thank you, and THANKS TO SCOTTISH INNS, FOR A PERFECT VACATION! (If you want to know some great, and not so great restaraunts, fishing boats, etc... email me, I would be glad to share with you!)
Excellent rooms and service at a very-very cheap price
