I have stayed at the Knighton hotel on several occasions over the past three years as part of a group of golfers. I have always found the staff and management to be outstandingly helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is full of character and rooms vary from very spacious with four poster beds to standard hotel rooms but are all a breath of fresh air when compared to the modern bed in a box type set up, the staircase is worth a trip alone. All our group have found the standard of cleanliness to be more than adequate and the quality of the massive welsh breakfast is fantastic.
The food, particularly the Saturday night carvery, was well cooked and the portions very substantial. The only complaint from some of our group was that the bar never closes and this had an adverse effect on some people's golf !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
To summarise this is a fun hotel which more than compensates for what some of the rooms lacks in 5 star quality with 5 star service and food. I look forward to my visits more and more each time I stay and maybe one day I will do justice to the excellent golf courses.

Stayed at this hotel last weekend; never again. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful, but at ?79 a night I expect a room and bathroom which are fit for human habitation. The bed was comfortable and the bed linen clean, but the room badly needed repair and redecoration, and the bathroom was quite unbelievable - a disgusting toilet which I had no choice but to use, and a bath that I couldn't bring myself to use. What a shame that such nice people have to offer their customers such a dreadful product.

We were really disappointed by our stay here. In fact, if there had been any other vacancies in the area we would not have stayed there. When we arrived, our room had not been serviced, with towels all over
the floor, an un-flushed, never mind un-cleaned, toilet, dirty sheets
on the bed etc We traipsed back to reception to advise them and they
said they would find us another room. We were despatched to the very smoky bar for complementary drinks whilst we waited. We were then told the original room had been serviced and was ready. The bedding and towels had been changed but the toilet was revolting, the carpet unhoovered and the surfaces thick with dust. It was the worst hotel I have stayed in but admittedly the breakfasts were good!

A hotel full of character situated in the centre of Knighton, a friendly place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is good value, but the wines are very average.

Nice and friendly people - food was good and all at a very reasonable price. I would stay again.
