Stay Away!!!
Einmalig.
Zimmer: Sehr sehr abgewohnt. Staubig (Bauarbeiten). Steckdosen funktionieren nicht. Föhn funktioniert nicht. Keine Heizung.
Sehr schlecht gepflegt. Das Hotel wirkt sehr schmutzig.

Stayed 2 nights here last week in room # 34 on the first floor. Great views of Florence, comfy beds, pleasant staff and reasonably priced. They're doing some major renovations on the rooms as of March 19th so be warned that it's a bit of a building site outside during the day. I'd definitely stay again. One minor gripe was the mini-bar --> we complained that it was empty (2 baby bottles of water, 10ml Vodka and a mini bottle of Prosecco) to be eventually told that it was actually full !!

My husband and I stayed here at the begining of October. We paid the top price for a room with a beautiful view over Florence, which was well worth the extra. The staff on the desk were really helpful, but the manager was rude and just didn't seem interested in customers.
The restaurant was shabby and over priced, though most of the staff were helpful.(one exception!). They do have a very pleasant terrace cafe attached , again with good views. Would stay in Fisole again: the hotel needs a good clean and a coat of paint, though certainly has a nice overall feel.

Mio marito e io ci siamo stati all'inizio di ottobre.

We stayed at the Aurora 25-26 Sept, 2006 and loved it. Through pure luck, we had room #31 with a small balcony and the most breathtaking view of Florence you can imagine. Absolutely unobstructed view of the entire city from horizon to horizon- it was so stunning, we bought pizza our second evening there so we could sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down!
Although pricey, the rooms are clean and nicely furnished with antiques. Look for the plaque on the sun patio that says Queen Victoria stayed there in 1893.
The staff were great, ask for Sally at the front desk, she's from the U.S. but speaks good Italian and was extremely helpful in giving directions, helping us book our next hotel etc. A great lady.
The hotel is on the main square across from restaurants, the cathedral and the Roman ruins. The square is under construction, so watch for barriers and construction equipment. There's an Enotecca (wine shop) just up the street which has a good selection of local wines at reasonable prices.
If you're driving, Fiesole is not easy to get to- the streets aren't well marked and some of the hills are really steep and narrow. We highly recommend renting a car with a GPS/navigation system if you're going to travel in Tuscany- it's worth it!
