Wonderful Stay

I was in Tainan late April and found the Evergreen to be a comfortable, clean and very friendly/helpful hotel. The On Duty Manager is there to help and will go out of her way to do so. The breakfasts were the best anywhere I have been. A huge selection of at least 6 different cultural cuisines. Overall Tainan has some of the best food in Taiwan
One of the better hotels in Tainan

Billed as the local five star. The place is well run but doesn't have a lot of westerners. There is however a lot of Japanese tourists.
Stayed there one night. Room was large, comfortable and quiet. Hotel is still fairly new and relatively inexpensive for the quality it offers.
Breakfast buffet selection was a mix of western and Taiwanese fare. Adequate for its purposes. Although they should work on the coffee machine a little bit. Ha!

Amazing 4* hotel well-worth it's value! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the rooms are clean and decadent. It's in a convenient location to multiple bus and train stations. Close to several shopping districts, and some of the temples [though for the larger, more famous temples, a tour bus or taxi guide will be required]. Close to the ex-pat district if you are missing Western food and bars! Also, after my journey and several months later, I received a birthday card from them in the mail! What a nice touch! Truly memorable!

This hotel can be comapred to 4 four stars according to european standard. It has a spa rennoveted in dec 2004 and very good buffet/restaurant. ADSL for free in each room, a nice bar for having drinks and food! It's a good alternative to the Ladis hotel
