Good hotel. Incompetent staff

The hotel is well appointed and has good sized rooms and is located in the hotel sector. The main problem is the staff. Upon checkout I was presented with a bill of more than twice the guaranteed reservation amount. despite using no other hotel services whatsoever the equivalent of $70 pernight had been added to my stay. Even allowing for taxes the situation was ludicrous. The checkout employee and her companion could give me no reasonable explanation of the bill and steadfastly refused to give me back the document which showed my original reservation guarantee. Eventually i had to pay the amount [which I suspect was their top rate for the room in high season] because I feared missing my flight.Throughout my stay the staff were generally surly and unhelpful -a complete contrast I might add to my experience in Brazil more generally where i found hotels staff in other establishments to be more than helpful and friendly too. In other ways the hotel had everything you would expect of a hotel in this category. However be warned there is some sharp practice at work here in there billing operation. Don't get caught like I was - if you book with an internet companyit is very unlikely that the hotel will honor the rate.
