Recently stayed in the Armada hotel for a family wedding. Had a great time - food superb and the staff were really helpful. Stayed in one of the tranquility suites which is easily one of the most amazing hotel rooms I've ever been in. The view of the coast from the stand alone bathtub in the room was stunning.
Although recently renovated, a few finer details seem to have been skipped over. For example, some of the carpets in parts of the hotel (particularly the function room and reception area) looked shabby and dated to say the least. Took the gloss off a unique hotel with great character in an amazing location.

I stayed in the Armada hotel about 2 weeks ago and I must say its a lovely hotel. The staff were so nice and so was the decor of the hotel. They have a 1940's themed Pearl Restaurant which was lovely. I cant get over the decor of the hotel its just amazing. My partner & I were celebrating so we said that we would treat ourselves to their best suite, which was the Tranquility suite. All I can say is --out of this world. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ocean. Really worth it.. Its such a great experience. I will def come back and visit the Armada Hotel and will def stay in the Tranquility. Everyone must try it. Amazing

I attended a wedding here recently in May- the location is very scenic and provides some really fantastic views . The hotel itself is fine . I was disappointed by the rooms- like most of the wedding party our 'non smoking' room stank of tobacco. The beds are quite small and the room lacked the usual things e.g it provided tea facilities but no coffee, one tiny bottle of shampoo for me and my husband etc no little features which could have the room one to remember and to justfy the price

We stayed here overnight for a wedding, nice location and the hotel had just been updated. The wedding reception was lovely. I had requested a cot for our room twice on the phone and there was no cot in the room when we got there, after waiting a while there was still no cot so had to ask for the 3rd time while we were at the reception. We have a 2 year old child and i left my husband to enjoy the wedding reception that night while i went to the room with our child, I am 6 months pregnant at the time and when i got to the room the cot was a travel cot was not put together for me or child or small blanket provided as i was tired and did not feel like going all the way back to the wedding reception to get my husband to make up the cot for me i put our child in bed with me. Did not sleep very well as the bed was qutie high and afraid child would fall out. Also a number of guests that were at the wedding that had stayed the night had paid while checking in were asked for payment again the next day when checking out. A few of these people are attending another wedding in the hotel soon and will not stay there again because of that!

Beautiful Location ... No SLEEP

Originally found this hotel 2 years ago ... it is in a beautiful location ... looking over the ocean. It recently had a revamp and the rooms are very nice. However, new plasma tvs in rooms have only 4/5 channels with very poor reception.
Why oh why installs new televisions in every room with no TV channels available!!
Stayed at weekend and hotel had ceili group booked in all weekend. Our Room was over dance hall ... even though we are family with 4 year old daughter. The noise of Irish dancers feet stamping on wooden floor below kept us awake all night plus the exit door to hall was slammed open and shut as people were leaving at 3am -4am.
Next night requested quieter room and moved to other side of hotel.
Unfortunately ceili group retired to front bar for more dancing and the sound of feet banging on floor ... resulted in no sleep again.
This hotel needs to spend money on sound proofing and not milk these large groups for their custom to the detriment of family groups.
Will never stay again ... this hotel may have had an upgrade but dont care about residents getting a good nights sleep.
Also because of large groups booked in ... no parking was available and car had to be double parked on dangerous windy road outside.
