Looked beautiful outside, entrance nice however the room was awful. Small, shabby and dated and not in anyway boutique. Very expensive for a room that looked worse than a travel lodge. Would not recommend

This hotel is trying too hard to be something it and its' staff will probably never achieve. The web site convinces you that it is a boutique hotel - this says to me that it should be stylish, usually modern with gadgets, young or youthful staff with an energetic outlook. In reality you have odd sized rooms which have been furnished on a small budget (12" LCD TV's, plastic baths, no separate shower, no mini bar, no magazines, no DVD, no CD player, no bathrobe, one bar of soap for our stay - and this was for the 'executive room' at ?125.00 per night (bed & breakfast)! The hotel staff (in general) were poorly trained, surly and had an 'attitude'. We played a game to see if they would ever say good morning before we did - it happened once! As a hotel it is OK but it oversells itself and therefore cannot fail to disappoint anybody who has stayed in a proper boutique hotel before. The restaurant, Razer, is good with a compact menu at reasonable prices although we visited Adlers (aboutn 5 mins walk away) which was better.

I would like to say I travel a fair bit with my work and it can be hard being away from home, but at the Georgian I feel very relaxed and really enjoy staying with you. The food, staff, rooms and of course food is all great and I take great pleasure in telling people how much I enjoy my stays with you.

We chose the Georgian House Hotel for a long weekend over the bank holiday based on reviews and the modern boutique esque decor - we were not disappointed.
The Hotel is on the edge of the town, 5 mins walk through a park to centre of Norwich, prob 10-15 to the very centre.
It is made up from a series of houses knocked together which means the layout is a bit of a warren, but it is well decorated, nice and modern... overall very nicely done.
Our bedroom had a modern feel and was clean and presentable, we both slept well on the comfy beds and no noticable noise, but it wasn't that busy.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful, they even kicked down our down when the key lock failed.
There is a bar and restuarant inhouse, we had a nice breakfast, but otherwise it was quiet empty as it was a Sunday so we ate out.. there's a great mexican called Mumba Jumba which we would recommend and head to "Tombland", an old area of town, for a selection of nice restaurants in a nice area.
Overall I would recommend staying if you like something thats not mainstream decor and has a nice feel to it. Its not a full on botique hotel, but pretty close and we got it for ?80 a night on expedia.

Sadly hotel fell foul of my 'first impressions' pet hate which is to try it on by putting you in an awful room before you then have to 'haggle' for an acceptable one. After a long(ish) and late journey and bearing in mind when we arrived it was quiet, they should have bothered to look at our booking request which clearly stated our room preference was in the main house. The gentleman on reception was snooty, which is unnecessary and a shame. The lights in reception were all turned off (we only arrived at 2145hrs) which was a shame too because it's a lovely old house and very pretty and with a little more thought could be really warm and welcoming.
Our disappointment was adjusted by a lovely and professional lady who kindly bought us some room service snacks and made up for the miserable welcome.
The room itself is renovated but sadly not well. They've skimped on money and you can feel the 'cheapness' overall. The bathroom is fresh and modern and the shower works well. It's not a room that you would want to chill in for a long romantic weekend but it serves ok for a pit stop.
The restaurant breakfast was dull and not noteworthy (you're supposed to cook mushrooms for a cooked breakfast!!) but the dinner menu is superb and I compliment both the staff and the kitchen for their fresh, modern and tasty offerings. The steak was beautiful and the hardworking lady who had looked after us previously recommended a great wine.
If I was passing through Norwich, I'd deinitaly eat here again but the hotel is truly hit and miss.
A beautiful building and a great restaurant - a hotel that needs to kick out the staff that are miserable and watch very closely their housekeeping and finer details - eg. the bath was dirty. The idea is there but it needs someone familiar with proper hotel running. Their restaurant is what you're paying for.
I should add that a great plus is they do have private parking and this is great if you care about your car!
