Arrived at this hotel from Florence around 5pm having booked five months ahead for a 5 night stay in a triple room (travelling with our teenage daughter). Upon arrival (having walked from the train station) we were given the run-around by the owner of the hotel. He first told us that the room had been overbooked and that there were no other rooms available at his hotel or anywhere else in Mestre. I insisted on speaking to the booking agency who then informed me that the owner said the room was not available because the toilet was broken. Whilst I was on the phone with the booking agent which was for about 20 mintues the owner disappeared. When he returned we insisted on seeing the room and yes the toilet had been taken out (we still to this day believe the did this himself). He then took us around Mestre to some very shady places that he wanted us to book into. Long story short the owner came across as a very seedy unhelpful man who obviously knew well in advance of our arrival that our room was unavailable. At no time did he try and contact us by email to warn us - he was only interested in taking us to these awful places as he had an obligation to find us a room with the booking agency - we ended up finding our own and actually stayed in a far superior place which was fantastic. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We didnt wanted to spent 300+ US$ for a night in Venice so we booked this hotel just for its location near both the bus and railway station. It was really worth!
The bus from the airport ends about 200 meters from this hotel so you can just walk with your baggage. The reception is very helpful. Ask for the restaurents around, to him as Mestre shuts down early in evenings. The guy at reception, Eduard is little reserved but very helpful. He tells you where to get bus to Venece and everything. The stop is next to the hotel.
Well, rooms are good, clean, beds are clean, break fast is complementry and is fulfilling.
From the hotel it takes 15 minutes by bus to mainland Venice. Railway station is about 300 meters to be connected to whole Italy. So if you dont want to spend big money for sleeping in Venice, this is a good deal, we liked it and will surely do it again!

i realize that european hotels are not the same as american hotels - but even keeping that in mind i did have a few complaints about this one ...
our room was so tiny - there were 2 single beds pushed together in the middle of the room and that was it - there was just enough room to walk around the bed and no more - i am not exaggerating at all - the room was just big enough to accommodate the bed. The bathroom was also super-tiny. if you divided it into 4 parts you'd have the toilet in 1 corner, the sink in the next, the bidet in the next, and then the shower stall (which was just barely big enough to stand in - forget about being able to shave your legs - it was about the size of the inside of a phone booth) - the entire bathroom was the size of a closet. There were no washcloths in the bathroom either, but the shower always had good water pressure and hot water.
Also there is construction going on in the hotel and you could hear them working from early in the morning until 8:30 or so at night - in fact the hotel has no sound proofing - you can hear everythign being said in the hallway or room next to you.
the airconditioning worked great which is always a big plus in europe - but the TV was tiny, had poor reception, and only got italian stations (yes i realize i was in italy, but normally hotels will have at least 1 english station).
the staff at the hotel was friendly (with limited english), breakfast was good.
i would not stay there again though - i'd rather pay the extra money and stay in venice.
