The bed was very comfortable and the staff was awesome. I was having car problems and they went out of their way to help. The restaurant that is attached is good as well. The property is a little older but overall was comfortable, the service is what sold me.

For the low price at this place, I wasn't expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised. While the decor is about 30 years behind, it was spotless and the staff was delightful. They had microwaves and fridges in the room, free coffee, and discount breakfast coupons for the restaurant. Most other guests were laborers and oilfield hands, but I felt very safe and it was quiet.

I stayed at the National 9 Inn in Gillette for five days in June of 2005. The rates were reasonable for the type of motel. The inn is older and has that look. The service was friendly and helpful. I shared a room with my daughter so we had two queen beds. The beds were comfortable. The room had a microwave and small fridge. Great additions when traveling with kids. The room we stayed in reeked of smoke eventhough it was supposed to be non-smoking. The entire motel had a heavy smoke smell to it. I went out and bought air fresheners for our room which helped. The attatched reasturant is very small and not very good. The service was poor, the food mediocre, and you sat in a haze of smoke. The hotel offers an incentive of a free breakfast. You definitely want to pass!! The hotel is on the edge of town and frequented by truck drivers. It is a little noisy at night. If I was on a budget, I would stay again.
