This hotel did exactly what it said on the tin! Yes the room was a bit small, but adequate for an average size person, besides, there is so much to see in Rome within walking distance of the hotel, the room was really only a resting place. Sam and his staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. The breakfast was good and plentiful.
Please don't take B Quigley's advice, there is NO danger here, we would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable, city centre hotel.
One word of warning, the Rome autorities have imposed set taxi fares from both airports, either 30 or 40 Euro's, anywhere within the city walls. Check this with the taxi driver before you get in.

Beware. I read reviews on trip advisor prior to booking this hotel for 3 nights and we left after the first night.
It took 3 keys to get in the room across the street from the lobby.
We booked double and got two twin beds. Their solution was to push them together. The air conditioner didn't work. The internet was across the street in the lobby with a cord. The room was dirty, The shower had mold. The main light didn't work in the bathroom. There were holes in the sheets. The in room safe wasn't usable...etc.
The only redeeming quality is that we were able to leave only paying for one night.
I walked down the street to another hotel, was shown a room before booking and it's cheaper and much nicer with wifi and breakfast included.

DANGER - DANGER - DNAGER
Avoid this Hotel.
First of all, the rooms are rooms they rent and are spread out at different locations. The first room they gave us was around the corner in a different building. I booked a room for three, my wife, my 26 year old son and myself. The room I booked was advertised as a room with a queen sized bed and a sofa bed. It had the queen sized bed but no sofa bed instead it had two twin beds in this tiny room where we were walking all over ourselves. The air conditioning did not work and because we arrived at 5:00 pm, they would not be able to have a technician there until the following morning. If you have been to Rome before in the summer, it is very warm there. Needless to say at the $300 per night rate, I told them that that was not acceptable and since they were booked fully, that they find me another hotel. They then moved us to another room across the hall which was equally cramped. (We noticed later that night, our original room had new occupants, presumably those individuals that were suppose to get our new room).
When we checked in, they told me that the room was the best that they had. When they moved us, they again said that the new room was their best.
They advertise Wi-Fi but it is not available due to "security reasons." So to be able to get Internet access, we had to go down to the small lobby. They then gave us a network cable to plug into their Internet access. After going through several cables and reboots every evening we tried, two out of the four nights we were there it worked. Their "technical support" was "We have access on our lobby computer, it must be your computer." I work for a software company and know how to make a computer work.
I would never consider staying at this hotel again because of our experience. Also, although the Vatican is within walking distance, I would stay somewhere closer to the center of town where everything else is closer.

8 of us have just returned from a long weekend at this hotel and we all found this hotel just perfect and will definitely stay here again!
The staff, especially the manager Sam, are very helpful and friendly (quite rare for a capital city) and the welcome drink was a nice touch. The rooms are a good size and extremely clean. The only slight downside are the small shower rooms with small shower cubicles - but this is more than compensated for by the friendly staff, cleanliness and location of the hotel. It is located in a lovely residential area, just 10 mins from the Vatican. There is a metro stop about 5 mins away so you can easily get around the city if you don't want to walk (we did a lot of walking as it's not too far from the main sites & you get to see so much when you are walking).
We stumbled on a lovely Pizzeria, L' isola della Pizza on Via degli Scipioni, which is close to the hotel and would highly recommend it. It was full of locals which is always a good sign!
We also had a great vegetarian meal at a restaurant near the Spanish Steps, www.ilmargutta.it.
We had a great stay in Rome and can't wait to go back!
