I was pleasantly surprised by the Oxford Suites. It is right off the freeway at Pendleton, so I was a bit hesitant. We booked a two bedroom suite for our family of 4. We choose this property because it is pet friendly and our small dog came with us on our trip.
The rooms are VERY generous in size. The two bedroom suite has two large bedrooms and two full bathrooms and a nice size living area with refrigerator and microwave. 3 TVs ~One in each bedroom, as well as the living room. All rooms have doors so you can be in any of the 3 rooms in privacy. The two king size beds were very comfortable with tons of pillows! The amenities like shampoo, soaps, lotion, etc. were plentiful and high quality, like those found in very nice hotels. Towels were plentiful and of good quality. The room was exceptionally clean. The breakfast was good. I've had better, but certainly it is adequate and of good quality. The property is very pretty, with a nice lobby. I was plesantly surprised by the quality of this hotel.
The only negatives I can report is the Front Desk and Service Staff have MAJOR issues. They are unfriendly and of no help with even the simple questions we asked. You walk in the nice lobby and have such a good impression, then you deal with the unprofessional Front Desk. She was so unfriendly and unprofessional we almost laughed. While I am delighted they are pet friendlly, when making the reservation I was not informed that you cannot leave your pet in your room by itself. Very unusual, as most hotels that are pet friendly, may ask you to crate your animal, but not being able to leave them at all is barely pet friendly. While making reservations, you should be made aware of this important pet policy. The only other issue is that if you are on the side of the freeway, you can definately hear cars and trucks.
Despite its few issues, I highly recommend this hotel it is a great value for it's size and quality. We would stay again.

I grew up in Pendleton and return often to visit family. We usually always stay here. It is, as far as I know, the newest hotel in Pendleton. I am shocked that it is not rated higher, but I assume that is due to the complaints about the service, which I wholeheartedly agree with. I hope the managers at this hotel read these reviews. The staff make it pretty clear that you need them more than they need you. For example, one time we were in the reception area using our drink vouchers and the bartender was having a smoke throughout our visit in the doorway beside the bar. The smoke and the cold air drifted in, making everyone uncomfortable. And, don't run out of drink in the middle of her smoke, because you will wait! Basically, very poor management. However, the rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast is above average for a free breakfast. There is more that sugary carb junk food items. The hotel is located near the freeway, but i agree that the noise is not a problem.
Delivers what it says on the box.

Conveniently situated just off I-84 and about a mile from downtown. There are several stores nearby, including a Wal-Mart for beers, sodas, snacks etc.
Check in was swift and friendly and we were given vouchers for the complimentary manager’s reception each evening and a hot breakfast each morning.
Our room on the third (top) floor was pretty much a standard king room, but it did come equipped with a fridge and microwave. Everything was clean and as it should be. The window had a section that opened and was fitted with a bug screen, a nice touch, but since we overlooked the Interstate we didn’t bother. In fact the window appeared to be triple glazed and did a good job in keeping the room quiet and cool (temperature was hitting around 100 mid-afternoon!). Bathroom was spacious and clean with good water pressure in the shower and all the usual amenities.
Manager’s reception offered two drinks each, beers, sodas, or BIG pours of wine, the red was surprisingly quaffable! There were also some acceptable, if unmemorable, appetisers. Breakfast was the usual cereals, baked goods, fruit etc and beverages plus scrambled eggs, hash browns and a meat item, bacon one day, links another. Again unexceptional but perfectly acceptable.
There is a small indoor pool, which we enjoyed, and a coin operated laundry. Nice touch to provide a TV to watch in the laundry while waiting for one’s washing. There is also a computer with free Internet connection provided in the lobby for guests use.
Overall first impressions of this hotel are of a bland “standard vanilla” product; but everywhere we went there were nice little touches and evidence that someone had thought through what they were trying to deliver and making sure that it was achieved. This was our first stay at an Oxford Suites, but on the evidence of this stay we shall look out for them again.

The rooms at Oxford Suites are pretty nice. It's your basic bed, TV armoire, mini fridge, microwave, couch, and desk. The bathroom is very small, but seems very clean (the toiletries are nice...smell good). We had an iron and ironing board, hair dryer, coffee maker. The hair dryer didn't turn off unless you unplugged it (not a big deal, but not exactly safe). Also, even though I didn't use it, they said there is a washer and dryer on the second floor for guests to use. That's always a plus.
I really liked that they provided 6, very comfortable, pillows. The bed was pretty comfortable. Moved a lot when the other person would switch positions. But, hey, no bed is your own bed! :) It was suitable.
We were on the other side from the freeway and didn't notice that noise at all. The noise from the other rooms seems minimal, although you can hear the person above you when they are in the bathroom...like using the toilet and pulling the toilet paper. Not unbearable, though.
The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. It was supposed to run until 9 AM. We got there at 8 AM and they were out of pretty much everything except the "dry" eggs and hash browns (they were okay). After we sat down, a few more guests came in and they started refilling the dishes that were empty. By this time we had filled up on our eggs and hash browns.
The pool was okay. Seemed a little cold, and, since you were indoors, you couldn't warm up in the sun. But it was nice that we were the only ones in the pool!
The biggest problem I had with this hotel was the staff. Only ONE person said "good morning" to us, and with a smile! When we checked in, I didn't feel welcome at all, nor at any other time, even though I never really had any contact with anyone. We weren't greeted, smiled at, or made to feel that we were welcome there at all.
We had gone shopping for a little food one day. We stopped at the front desk to ask if it was okay to use the pool. It was always empty so we wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with it. Instead of saying "Sure, the pool is open! You just can't take any food or drink in with you." She looked me up and down, and at the soda we were carrying, and said, "Well, not with your food." It wasn't really rude, she just could've been more polite. Again, I just felt like I wasn't really welcome or wanted there.
When we checked out, I took my keys to the front desk, she asked what room I was in, then said, "Ok, everything's good." That's it. That's all she said. No "Thank you for staying with us." No "Have a good day." Not even one "Thank You."
Overall, it wasn't a bad place to stay, if you don't mind the unfriendly staff. It's clean, fairly comfortable, and provides a continental breakfast, as well as an "evening reception". At the evening reception you can get a couple glasses of wine, beer, or soda (I don't know how big), and appetizers (don't know what they are). I would also ask for a room opposite of the freeway.
There is a Wal-Mart, Safeway, Jack-in-the-Box, Taco Bell, and other businesses, all on the same corner as the hotel. Easy walking.

We stayed here one hight (July 29th) based on a relative who raved that the continental breakfast was great. The physical facility is very nice and has a classy hotel feel to it. We had a nice first impression. The 'evening appetizer' provided each evening were not very nice, carrot sticks, breaded chicken bites, instant pudding (?). The staff member serving drinks was surly in my wife's opinion. She was looking forward to breakfast though and she appreciated that it was advertised as being available until 10:00 AM.
The pool was fair. A nice pool but too cold and the hot tub was too hot. We could not enjoy either one for very long.
The room was good, the bed firm and pretty well clean. Another guest we met complained that her room was stocked with dirty linen and she had also experienced unfriendly staff over the issue.
The next moring we got up late, cleaned up and went for the recommended breakfast at 9:30 am. No breakfast was set up. We found a staff member who bruskly said "You are way too late" and when we pointed out that they had advertised the breakfast being available until 10 am they just said that someone had forgotten to change the signs. With the previous nights issues and the treatment at breakfast we spent some time with the hotel manager. To her credit we were given a substantial discount on our stay.
Based on our experience I would not recommend this hotel. I do believe that there is the potential for this hotel to be a very nice place to stay if the staff issues are improved.
