We stayed for two nights at the Goldridge in January as part of a coach tour of South Island. It is out of town and is a steep walk from the bus stop, but we found the location to be ideal, with beautiful view over the lake. There is a convenient regular bus service which runs from Queenstown, or you can hire a taxi. We did as a group and it cost $20 for ten of us. The hotel does not have a shuttle. The rooms were overlooking the lake and were clean and spacious. The restaurant provided excellent breakfasts and the evening meal we had was good quality at a reasonable cost. Drinks were cheap, but maybe that was the Happy hour. The internet was $5 for an hour and the hotel has good laundry facilities for use by the guests. All together, we had a lovely stay, with friendly helpful staff, and would happily return.

Si no te va el casino, este hotel será el adecuado para ti. Está limpio, es tranquilo, con buenas vistas y sólo está a 10 minutos del centro de la ciudad o del teleférico en el servicio de autobús gratis. No necesitas alojarte en el centro de Queenstown para nada.

The hotel is not in the city center. It is situated on the hill around 3 KMs from the city center which the guest could see part of the Remarkable behind the lake and the other mountain. The room is nice and clean. The facilities are in good shape. The hotel has a free shopper bus service which brings a hotel guest to a city center. Therefore, I could park my car, hop in the bus and go into a city center easily. Very convenient. Since the hotel is on the slope of the hill. If you carry a heavy baggage like us, you need to drive a car up to a temporary parking and load your baggage up there first. The next concern is if you are not enable to carry your baggage to a second floor, you may consider a first floor since there is no elevator. You then drive your car down to a car park. If you do not a casino person, this hotel is good for you. Clean, Quiet, Good View and only 10 mins to city center or skyline gondola by the free shopper bus. You do not need to stay in the Queenstown city center at all.
