I had a difficult time choosing a hotel in Jackson Hole. It was either in town (too noisy) or WAY out of my price range. I finally decided to splurge a little and book the Spring Creek Ranch, which was NOT inexpensive by any means.
We got there late, and they had screwed up our reservation. I had booked 4 nights, and they only had us for 3 nights. The room they gave us had fabulous view of the Tetons, but it was RIGHT NEXT to the bar!! There is NO air conditioning in the hotel, so we couldn't open the sliding glass door or enjoy the balcony because of the noise.
The insulation must be poor because there was a guy upstairs who woke us at all hours of the night and day walking across his room, but it sounded as if he was stomping! The bathroom had poor lighting in the shower area.
There are wonderful robes for you to use while you are there and a gorgeous stone fireplace in each room, but whatever you do, DON"T book room 2102 unless you like hearing bar noise!

I just returned from a seven night stay at the resort, and would highly recommend the resort! The location can't be beat. Set on a butte about 10 minutes outside of Jackson Hole, the resort is close to the restaurants and shopping of Jackson, but a world apart in terms of the rustic ranch feel and peace of the resort. The views of the Tetons are amazing! I stayed in a hotel room, set in a wood cabin of four rooms. My upstairs room had a balcony and picture window which afforded great views of the Tetons and the ranch and valley below. The setting is quiet and peaceful. The room is furnished in rustic decor, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The large stone fireplace wasn't needed during my stay, as the temperatures were in the 80's every day, but cool at night so with the sliding patio door open, the room was comfortable using the ceiling fan. The Granary restaurant has terrific views as well, and seems to be a popular restaurant choice for locals. The ranch provided an ideal location on the butte to watch the Jackson Hole July 4th fireworks. Staff shuttled guests to the top, providing a memorable experience. The housekeeping was excellent.
I obtained a great rate on the room, and found it to be an excellent value.
I would suggest renting a car to tour Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and to best enjoy the area. I spent most days in Grand Teton National Park enjoying hiking, boating, dining, a float trip and concert. The parks offer many activities for visitors, and I was able to view wildlife in a beautiful setting. The ranch offers tours, but I chose to tour independently.
I spent a relaxing week in Wyoming and can't wait to return again.
