poor tech support for wireless internet
Guest name: bkinedmonton, Edmonton
The hotel itself is ok and the front desk staff as well as the cleaning staff were very friendly. The rooms, although older, were relatively clean, however, there were some things needing repair. The plug in under the desk had four plug ins and only two worked. Luckily in my notebook bag I had an extension cord with additional plug ins therefore allowing me to charge the notebook, cell phone, Garmin GPS unit and Blackberry at the same time. The toilet seemed to continue making a refilling sound long after a flush but those were minor issues. The real issue for me was the wireless internet. When booking online from Canada, the most important requirement for picking a hotel was an internet conncection. The reason for coming to San Diego was to meet with a realtor and look at dozens and dozens of properties and an internet connnection to do research was paramount. Trying to log on was impossible. There was a 1-800 number for the tech support of the company the hotel contracts the internet service to but they were not very helpful. It was numerous phone calls to them as they kept trying different settings and eventually my call had to be elevated to a level 3 meaning a supervisor would have to call me back. Two days later and I still had not received a call back. To make sure it was not a computer problem I took the notebook to a Starbucks down the street and it worked fine there. As well, I went next door to the Hampton Hotel and in their lobby it worked fine again. But back at the Good Nite Inn, nothing, and no help from the tech support people. I think they want to blame the operating system "Vista". Very frustrating experience and whenever I asked if the manager was around of course the answer was no. Next time in San Diego I will stay next door at the Hampton.

Have traveled since '05 to visit friends that live in San Diego and attend Comic-con. Normally stayed with friends but this time we chose to stay @ a hotel. 2 mid 20's single guys, 1 room with 2 bed set up. We didn't occupy the rooms during the day much as we were busy with San Diego/Comic-con.
Hotel advertised free wireless internet. I called about 2 weeks before our trip date to confirm that the wireless net was there and the woman I talked to reassured me that "all rooms" have wireless access. Reason I asked is we both own laptops with wireless network cards and at the time were deciding whether to bring them or not. We flew from Seattle, Wash. and carrying a laptop can be a cumbersome with airport security plus always that risk of it getting damaged or stolen during travel.
We brought our laptops on our trip to find that the room we were assigned had no wireless connectivity. The room was on the ground floor near the main office/lobby area. I asked about it and was told that whoever I talked to was misinformed and that wireless internet access only could be obtained from the main lobby.
My other complaint is the bathtub/shower I felt was abnormally small. I will not lie, my travel partner and I are big guys. 6'3 and 250-300 lbs. Showering was a huge hassle for us. Very narrow and cramped space. (no, we did not shower together XD )
Beds were comfy, pillows a bit flat. On the 3rd night of our 7 day stay we requested extra pillows and bath towels to deal with our water mess from showering, which we got from the main lobby. An old A/C unit was in the room and it worked great when we used it.
We requested non-smoking room, unfortunately there was a slight stale odor of cigarette smoke to our room. I did leave a few dollar bills and some spare change that we accquired from using the Trolley on our table in the room during the stay and it never went missing.
We did however keep our laptops out of plain sight and under lock and key in our lugguage when not occupying the room. Hotel is near a XXX strip club but that didnt bug us. It was pretty calm and quiet during the nights.
Overall other than the shower/bathtub issue the hotel is not bad for the value.

The hotel was very conveniently near the I5 exit. This was a family vacation so we rserved 6 rooms. We were given rooms next to each other. The rooms were clean and warm and felt good since outside was very cold. The free internet access was a plus. The bathroom toilet was leaking a little. I called front desk and they were going to send someone, who never showed. But it was a minor leak and I threw towels on the ground anyway. It wasn't a big deal. For the price and location, I was very pleased. I would definitely stay here again and tell others to stay here too. Although I heard about the Adult bar across the street, my family didn't even notice it.

this place is in a bad neibourhood. the corridors are accessible from the outside and there are no surveillance cameras.
there are not enough parking spots outside in front of the hotel and there is a free (and dark) garage, again without surveillance cameras and accessible from the outside.
we were there with our company for a conference and had three rooms. one was broken into thru the window during the first day and a laptop and a portable printer were stolen.
the hotel insurance does not cover theft by third party, and the hotel management even denied the request to at least not charge for the room. so overall bad service.

My boyfriend's mom came to visit from England and booked the Goodnite Inn Seaworld through a travel agent. I live in San Diego but have never heard of this hotel. And now I know why. We drove to a terrible neighborhood in San Diego. Dirty, bums everywhere, cops patrolling the streets and the best part...a strip club right next door. We walked in to the front desk and it was disgusting. Smoky and low-class. The front desk attendant was covered in tattoos and looked like he was just released from prison.
I was adament that we leave and get a refund. I would not let my worst enemy stay at that hotel much less my boyfriend's mother. We left and they are still working out the refund. I hate that this was her first impression of San Diego. Please don't stay here, you will definitely regret it.
