Booked into this hotel for 1 night in transit back to UK. Arrived 10:30pm, reception very pleasant though forgot to give us back our passports. Instead of bringing them to our room, they rang and suggested we pop down to collect them!
10 mins from airport on a busy, noisy road. Asked for a 'quiet' room and got one on the rear side of the hotel. Still fairly noisy.
Decent sized room, effective aircon but room comfortably cool without it. Mini bar, kettle, TV, room safe. Decent bathroom supplies, hairdryer and complementary water. Rps/? exchange rate average. Room very clean and tidy, whitest freshest towels I'd seen in my whole trip (and plentiful).
Breakfast somewhat strange, left to own devices (9:00), no staff about so seated ourselves and got on with it on our own. Chef kept replenishing cooked food though there was only 4 of us in there by then - they must get an awful lot of waste. Good selection though to get a decent 'toasted' slice of bread I had to put it through the toaster 4 TIMES!! (Couldn't turn the temp up any further.) They were mopping the dining room floor right near where we were eating........
... Good and plentiful selection of food.
There is also a small bar, coffee shop and alternative restaurant. Nothing much of interest in the general area outside.
Wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again (but only as a '1 nighter' if in transit), though it's true that the staff don't take an awful lot of notice of you, so if you like a lot of attention for some reason, you probably aren't going to get it.

When you plan your stay in Mumbai, first you must put aside all thoughts of value for money. Most of the 5 star business hotels are a complete rip off: they charge what they like and get away with it. So the Mirador is a pleasant change.
Airport pickup is efficient, with brand new cars. Reception staff are genuinely courteous and helpful. The lobby is light and clean: restaurant has a good selection of Indian, Asian and European dishes for reasonable prices. A good choice at breakfast too, with omelettes made to order and the usual choice of fruit and cereals for western palettes. Coffee shop on the first floor is useful if you're in a hurry. Excellent bandwidth on the wi-fi broadband - good enough for Skype calls and even my Slingbox from home.
The corridors are a bit dingy but the rooms are clean and bright, even if the decor is starting to show it's age a little. I'd classify the room as medium sized - I've stayed in many smaller in Europe. the bathroom was clean - no shortage of hot water. I had a shower plus bath - I know some other rooms are shower only so you'll have to specify if you're fussy. I had a large size flat screen TV with all Indian channels plus CNN and BBC World.
I've stayed at a number of the so called top hotels in this city and been disappointed. Not with the Mirador. I'll stay there next time (if I can get a room!).

We arrived at 4.30am after 10 hours of travelling only to be told that they didn't have a room for us despite the fact that we had a guaranteed reservation booked through Expedia.
They let us get out of the car, tip all the staff, bring our bags in and take our passports before they actually told us this.
They said that they'd booked us into their sister hotel and they promised that it was just as good. We argued with them for a while but we were exhausted and furious. They had us over a barrel....
The manager - Mr Parvan Chavan - accompanied us to the Regency Hotel, Vakola Junction which was a 10 minute drive away. As we pulled up we could already see that it was nothing like the Mirador which was in a quiet side street. The Regency was literally right next to a motorway and there was a group of homeless people sitting round a fire outside.
When we went in, Mr Chavan told us that we'd have to pay the same price for a room - ?115. He said that the hotel was the same standard and that there was nothing he could do about the rate. The arguments continued. He said we'd get a suite for this price.
We checked the suite and it was big but that's the only positive thing to be said.... the bedding was awful, the sheets had marks on them and there were half used crusty toiletries in the bathroom.
We returned to reception and we saw a man checking out. He paid ?40. We said that we'd seen what the man paid, that the hotel was nothing like the Mirador and that we wanted a discount. After more arguing, they agreed to a ?7.64 discount. We gave up and paid the ?97.36.
We got to bed just before 6am just as the traffic on the motorway started to build up and we didn't sleep a wink. Our bed might as well have been in the middle of the motorway - the noise was horrendous.
The following morning, they gave us another small refund but we still ended up paying about ?90.
A complete rip off.....

The hotel itself is good. Rooms are comfortable & clean. Staff are friendly & helpful. The hotel has good facilities, and provides airport collection. However, it is located in Andheri, near the airport which is far from Juhu, Santa Cruz and especially Central Mumbai. Also, the hotel & road appeared to be new as not a single rickshaw or taxi driver knew where it was.
