We were 3 families of 6 adults and 6 children and stay 6 nights, the beach side villas were outstanding, clean, spacious and an amazing outside shower. the pool was excellent and very kid friendly. the pool bar was a highlight as was the buffet breakfast. the buffet dinner was great with plenty of everything. the staff were very helpful, although the english was poor. the beach was very rough and not much of it. we travelled to Mui Nie for dinner a few times which was great.

We stayed at the Phu Hai Resort between the 16th and 27th April and it was absolutely beautiful. The hotel grounds are very well established with plants and trees and they are kept immaculate. We could not get one of the beach bungalows as these were all full but we had an upper room in one of the wings off the main building and this was perfectly adequate.
The beach is just a stroll through the gardens and at first glance looks ok but there seemed to be a big problem with tar whilst we were staying. My feet and flip flops were covered in stains on several occasions so please be careful where you are putting your feet. Nearer to the waters edge seems to be fine. There were also lots of sand flies so a good tip is to spray your arms and legs with insect repellant before going for a beach stroll.
The hotel rooms were large with a huge bed (although the beds are rather on the firm side!) We did have to ask for extra pillows and coat hangers for the cupboard but this was not a problem and the additional items arrived within the hour.
Reception were friendly and helpful and the exchange rate on encashment of money was competitive. We were only on bed and breakfast but there was lots of choice and even on the days it was a bit busy, none of the food ever ran out. We chose to eat in one evening and had the East meets West buffet which must be the largest spread of food I have ever seen. There were fresh salads, spring rolls, soups, fish, chicken, beef, bar-b-que, rice, noodles etc, etc.
The rooms were cleaned daily and the floors were spotless. The bathrooms were small but with a large shower cubicle and plenty of toiletries and fresh towels daily.
A lady comes round each evening with a HUGE can of "Raid" and they spray the rooms for bugs. I think we only saw one creepy crawly in 11 days.
The swimming pool is extremely large with a big cascading waterfall and there are plenty of sun loungers available. Happy Hour is 3pm to 4pm - try the cocktails!
The hotel has a small gym although we never ventured inside as there was far too much to do elsewhere! We hired bicyles from the hotel which at $3 US for the day was hardly expensive. We cycled to the Mui Ne Fishing Village, the Sand Dunes and the Fairy River. This cost us absolutely nothing and was a much better way of seeing the countryside instead of being crammed into a car or a tour bus and taken round.
There is a shuttle bus from the hotel into Mui Ne each evening at 6pm and 7pm, returning at either 9pm or 10pm. You need to book which bus you want with reception. They drop you off about half way down the main street of the Mui Ne resort and there are numerous restaurants to choose from. The seafood is some of the best I have ever tasted, especially the tiger prawns, baracuda and tuna and the red snapper. Beer is plentiful and cheap but the wine is a little like rocket fuel unless you order imported wines from Australia or France etc.
I would not hesitate to stay here again and they are building some additional beach bungalows next door to the hotel which once finished, will form part of the hotel. We were not troubled by any building noise at all during our stay. The additional building is supposed to be completed in July 2007.
All in all, a gorgeous hotel with lovely staff and a relaxing atmosphere.

We had read about Mui Ne beach and decided to make the effort to get there, travel agent Mr Pham from Vietnamstay recommeded this resort and we were not disappointed. Mr Pham arranged a private driver to take us from Saigon to the resort (4 hours drive $75), the resort staff were wonderful, the pool area was first class, we had a villa on the beachfront and could walk from our front door to the sand, the food in the restaurant was some of the best we had, the seafood steamboat at US$8 fed 4 of us and it was fresh and tasty, this was one of our best finds. It was a couple of kilometres from the main town/beach (US$2) cab ride but there was enough in the resort to occupy us day and night.
