We loved this hotel! I stayed there with my two girls of 13 and 8. We were looking for something not too luxourious but nice at the same time. With the Golden Arrow, that's exactly what we got. The rooms were comfortable, roomy and overall very clean. We asked for a room with a balcony and a lakeview and got just that. From our balcony we had a wonderful view of the lake as well as the private beach. We were also very impressed with the beach. It has beautiful white sand and crystal clear water. My 8 year old loved playing around and catching fish. They also have paddleboats, canoes and kayaks. If you want something fancier, they also offer gondola boat rides. Our only complaints? Our room was hard to find after we parked in the parking garage (bad signage), the front desk staff could have been friendlier, and we couldn't stay longer! Overall, this hotel is definitely a great one for families. We will definitely come back to the Golden Arrow!

We stayed 2 nites here and loved the place.Perfect setting on the lake. Our room was connected to the Alpine Mall and 2 feet to the door of our room. Perfect for us as my husband has mobility issues. The views from our room were amazing and we watched the sun rise both mornings. The hotel set up is somewhat bizarre as it goes off into strange directions on different floors.Somewhat confusing. We did have some minor issues. Housekeeper took all the shampoo conditioner and lotion and never replaced it.Took 2 calls to front desk and 3 hrs to be resolved. Also the bag for recyclables was not replaced so we had to leave cans and newspapers on the desk. While we applaud the efforts to "be green"-we need the tools to adhere to the policy. As I said-minor issues. Our biggest issue was the bathroom. Not as clean as I wold have liked. We did call housekeeping but no one answered on 2 different tries.I will say that it was VERY busy as the village is hosting an Ironman competition this week and there are tons of people in this hotel.Even though this review sounds somewhat negative-we would return in a heartbeat. Can't beat the location and the price was a bargain.See you soon.

After reading the reviews i was looking fwd to experiencing the Golden arrow and judging it for myself.
The rooms were good size and had a beautiful view of the lake plus the bathroom was cool size. I liked the lobby area as the view of the lake is outstanding and the staff i spoke to were very pleasant behind the reception desk.
The maids were all very cheery as you walked through the hotel and always said hello. I didnt try the pool area so i cannot comment on it but the location of the hotel was superb.
The attached restuarant Charlies has a bizarre mix of either excellent or totally dreadful staff so depending who is on duty determines the service you get. The food was pretty good though.
Overall I thought the Golden Arrow was a nice hotel although the hype over the ';Green Garden' on the roof was too American for my taste. Lets face it , a few pot plants covering a roof isnt the 'Green eco phenomenom' that it has been hailed as.
Try losing one of the hundred or so massive 4wd trucks or cars from the hotel garage and you may do a bit more for the environment than the pot plants! ;)
Good job Golden Arrow!
