I wish I had read the other review of this hotel before I checked in. It was recommended by a local person and it was convenient to where I wanted to be but the experience was a lot less than pleasant. I paid 79.00 plus tax for the room. When I got back to the room after dinner I tried the TV and it did not work. The desk clerk was unable to determine the problem and promised to get back to me but never did. There was no hair dryer or iron in the room or even available. The desk clerk did not tell me about the continental breakfast that was available and said she did not have to verbally give me that information because it was noted on the clipboard where the reservations slips were located. I did not notice that upon check-in and the breakfast was in a totally different room not visible from the lobby. The previous night I had stayed in a Best Western in Galveston for only 49.95 - the TV worked, the desk clerk informed me of the continental breakfast and we had a hair dryer and iron in the room. I would not recommend this hotel - very unpleasant experience.

I chose the Passport Inn because it is located across the street from the Kemah Boardwalk, a popular tourist attraction. Unfortunately, location is all this place has going for it. For $99 (the weekend rate), it is vastly overpriced. The room was shabby, with a door so ill-fitting that at least 1/4 inch of daylight was visible around it, carpet with numerous holes in it, and a blanket on the bed so threadbare you could see right through it. On top of this, the management refused to accept a discount card that the most recent hotel directory states that it does accept and also did not have the continental breakfast that was promised in the directory. It was a disappointing experience and I urge other travelers to avoid this motel.
