On arrival our room was,nt ready the receptionist said it would be about an hour but there was tea/coffee and soft drinks available at the end of the reception area. The only thing available were a load of dirty cups and glasses , I went back and explained this to her she told me she would sort it out. After 40 minutes there were still no courtesy drinks. The receptionist then walked by with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champagne. I again mentioned there were still no drinks to which she nearly bit my head off saying the women who was cleaning the tables around us was busy so we had to wait. we were then told the room was ready so we never saw any courtesy drinks . On entering the room it was quite pleasant with a nice view over the swimming pool , we unpacked and went to explore the hotel grounds which were very nice and secluded. We returned to the room to have a shower the water did not run away very well " neither" did the washhand basin . After dinner we went back to reception and told them they saidthe maintenance manager would fix it . On settling down to sleep the air conditioning was really noisy so we turned it off and again told recption. It never worked the two weeks we were there. the blocked drains we did ourselves,( full of human hair) the noise from the plumbing is so noisy that when your lying in bed you think you are having a shower with the room upstairs. The resturant staff are really good, after a few days they reserve the table you like to sit at . The Barman is also fantastic and looks after you. The animation team are very sociable and sit and talk with you but there work is cut out because the entertainment is boring. But their all good a bunch lads .If you want to eat out somewhere different at a very reasonable price . Walk out of the front door of the hotel turn left down the hill to the bottom then left again, cross the road and then the first right passed the shops is a little family resturant were you sit outside lovely food try the morrocan soup its fantastic By the way the hotel reception staff are a right miserable shower . But overall an enjoyable stay. Also the fixed price shop is cheaper than the hotel shop well worth a visit. Plus there,s a little zoo across the road from it dirt cheap to go in so pay that a visit.( Have a lovely time in Agadir.)

There have been some poor reviews about this hotel on trip advisor. However, as a 3 star hotel in a pretty shabby area of Morocco I don't think it's too bad.
Initial impressions are that this is a modern, clean and welcoming hotel. The grounds are clean and looked after and the pools are cleaned every morning. The staff are friendly courteous and seem genuinely happy to help, no matter what the problem or query.
Admittedly the interior of the Anezi has seen better days, the rooms and corridors are slightly shabby, and more care could have been taken when putting up some of the fixtures and fittings. The location is great, being only a few steps from the beach, 108 apparently, although I didn't count, and there are some fantastic views from the rooms across the bay.
The food is great, well cooked and there's lots of it.... All in all, this is an acceptable hotel within a cheap holiday package for a quick week in the sun.

4 of us have just returned from Agadir...the climate was great, the package was cheap as chips and this certainly turned out to be you get what you pay for!!!
The general condition of the rooms are dreadful....clean but in a terrible state of repair.
1. NO AIR CONDITIONING- we asked every day for the first 5 days to have this looked at, we were eventually told it was not a fault it is not swithched on because it is not warm enough..it was 28 degrees the heat was stifling we all came home with head colds
2. SAFE.. you have to pay a daily fee for this, ours would not work we had to wait 4 hours for a technician
3. SHOWERS..no problem with pressure, be sure not to have it on too hot they are like industrial power hoses!!
4. NO SINK STOPPERS- despite asking for them they never arrived
5.FURNITURE- bedroom furniture is very rickety my husband sat on the stool and it broke into 8 pieces!! He landed on his back, no apologies or replacement .
6. INTERNAL TELEPHONE- never worked despite reporting it each day to reception.
7. FRIDGE- there is no fridge in the room despite a mini bar being advertised in their facilities!! On the first night we were told we would have a fridge the next morning..it never materialised
8. SHOP- there is a shop on the ground floor, whilst you expect to be hasled on the street by shop keepers you do not in the hotel this guy would zoom in on you each time you use the lift..
9.LOCATION- the hotel has fantatic views and is near the beach, however what they do not tell you is you must go down a total of 108 steps before you reach the footbath, going down is no problem..going up is like scaling mount everest and not suitable for everyone, to stay on the flat and reach the beach is a 1 kilometre walk
10. BREAKFAST- was more than adequate with a wide variety of choices to suit all tastes
11.ENTERTAINMENT- there are 3 young guys who form the animation team, they are very good, excellent with all ages especially children. They provide lots of entertainment for them, whilst we were there there was a parrot show, salsa dancing, dancing competition, bingo, darts, water aerobics, darts, bouncy castles, table tennis, lawn tennis lots to keep the young ones occupied..there was only 1 thing missing...PEOPLE...there was just nobody there which was soul destroying for this young team.
But I think the place has got such bad reviews no-one is staying
12.POOLS- there are 3 pools from toddler to very deep, cleaned each morning and suitable for all.
My overall opinion on the hotel is that unless it receives a make over and a serious management over view it isgoing to be left behind, it has great potential....but in its present form I would not stay again nor would I recommend it to others.
As for our overall holiday in Agadir that was good, the weather was great, food and drink more than affordable, average meal for 4 with drinks was E45.00 you would pay much more than this in Ireland. There is a wide choice of food and entertainment, from the English pub serving pie & mash with sky sports to Moroccan tarines with belly dancng or a safe bet with spaghetti bolongnaise..or you can stay close to home with mc donalds and pizza hut all available within a 10 minute walk.
The beach was nice but maybe a bit untidy at the moment, however there is a major refurb going on providing a full length promenade and that should be good when completed.
One thing you must bear in mind when you go to Morocco is you will see poverty...yes it is unpleasant to be harassed and pulled into shops and yes we would probably spend more if we didnt have that hasle, however, these people do not have a social welfare system to fall back on there are no government payments, they must earn to feed and cloth their family...they must make hay when the sun shines and exploit every opportunity....bear in mind the average monthly take home salary is E300!!!
That said we met a lovely man on the beach called Mohamad, he took us by taxi to the local Berber market and also to see the flamingoes, a 1/2 day trip cost us E30 for 4 people. He took us to all the different sections of the market items were cheap as chips and we were not "harassed" once
I would recommend Agadir as an affordable sun destination for all ages....just be choosey with your accommodation.

Had I read the previous reviews, I would have stayed away from the Anezi. However, each individual has their own opinion.
This is my third visit to the Anezi and whilst the hotel is in desperate need of a facelift, personally, I've had no reason to complain on any of my visits.
I find the hotel spotless. The reception area, restaurant, pool and rooms were always cleaned to my satisfaction. I was not happy with the first room they gave me so we changed, to a room on the 8th floor which had the large double bed we requested, a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea and the room had a nice clean carpet, decorated adequately and was worth the money we paid. (You want 5 star luxury you go to the Sofitel!)
Admittedly there was no fridge but having travelled to Agadir numerous times and having read other reviews, this is not surprising.
Air conditioning was not on but we didn't need it. Again, read other hotel reviews and if you can find a "middle of the range" hotel with working air conditioning, you're lucky.
Breakfast was plentiful, sufficient and varied (although I would recommend your own teabags if you can't get the not so friendly waiter to bring you one, because the tea is disgusting - stick to coffee).
The panoramic view from the bar on the 10th floor is amazing although the bar could do with a facelift and needs something to attract more customers.
The hotel is centrally located although there are a lot of steps to climb so this hotel is not suitable for people with walking difficulties, unless you have a car.
The hotel tended to cater more for the french than the english but this did not affect our stay.
The only negative point I would make about this hotel is the staff (which I have found each time I have visited but fortunately, this does not stop me staying in what I find a reasonale hotel for the price you pay). I found the staff very unfriendly, unhelpful and surly. Moroccan people tend to rely more on tips than wages but I didn't feel inclined to tip (except the cleaning lady who was lovely and each morning she taught me a new arabic word!)

The hotel needs maintenance. I moved rooms, but either the bathrooms shelf was hanging off, or the light hanging down from the ceiling, or the safe did not work, or no lock on the balcony door, no plug for the sink, and the screws holding the shower were non-existent so the water hit the wall!!
Also, there were some poorly feral cats in the hotel grounds. I decided to arrange and pay for a vet to attend them. The surly reception staff (mainly male) kept fobbing me off. Originally it was a Sunday and nothing open. So went back on Monday, and told to come back, to see manager, another 30 mins and so on - all day. I was extremely annoyed. They talked amongst themselves, wnadered off, did not look you in the ey and fiddled with the computer. So you had no idea if they were talking nd dealing with you or not.
I eventually found the business centre staff (women) exremely helpful. ANd within 5 mins had managead to do what I'd asked the other guys for 2 days. ie call a vet. It was arranged for the following day. Then the folloiwng day I find others in distress around the cats as the hotel had arranged for 2 shifty looking guys with a sack to get rid of the cats. ONe had already been 'disposed' off. There were constantly conflicting sotries, of that they were being taken away for innoculations. If so, why the shifty guy with a sack that completely traumatised the cats! ANd why did they not reappear. I was disgusted with the hotel. THe manager just gave the same story.
I believe the staff were trying to fob me off until they could get rid of the cats, which I believe is why they did not deal with my query and were pretenting they either did not understand what I was talking about, or almost laughing.
You can walk down to the beach during the day. However, I had problems due to ill health getting up the stairs one day as it was quite steep, and kept stopping and breathing hard. Only to be intimidated by the street vendors long the path who were imitating me!
I tried to go to town in the evening, but the road down the steps was not open. The other route was bigger and lit, but I did not feel safe wandering around. I got clicking noises from the local men. And I was covered up and in an anorak!
The hotel cleaners were wonderful. The bar staff great - although the manager there was very intimidating to his staff. Not a great motivator. The restaurant staff were very pleasant.
There were a mixture of British and German people there. The food was okay.
The heating/air con was turned off! Why! Sometimes it was too hot and at night it was freezing. I had to get the covers from the other bed onto mine to make it bearable. The pillows were lumpy. The radio did not work in the room.
They had entertainment in the bar area, and they did try hard. However, after 3 days of hearing the same songs and recordings it wore a bit thin. THey had some great dancers - guys that got you on the floor for the first 2 eventings, but the rest of the week were replaced by others that were not so confident and good.
Many people smoked - and now being in a non-smoking country - I found this difficult. The bar area was covered in smoke and no aircon or windows opened!
The outside snack bar for lunch by the pool area, service extremely slow. If someone was fiddling around - and you were waiting they did not think to ask if you wanted serving!
Could do a lot better. The male attitude is dreadful.
Also, note girls there are NO HAIRDRYERS in the rooms.
When I asked at reception, I was told yes lots of people asked for these! Doh, well why not do something about it. Very unhelfpul, uncaring attitude. So I had to go up the road and buy one!
The towels also in the rooms had seen much better days. If you want fluffy towels take your own. They were just about what I'd use for my cat. Fraying at the edges.......
I would not go there again....
