Well what can I say this hotel I thought was brilliant!!!
I work for Thomson as a travel agent and was a bit worried about the reviews,Pulling up outside the hotel it looks very nice with security guards you are straight away greeted by the staff who take your suitcases to your room.
The rooms are lovely and big they are basic but i couldnt complain the air con works a treat.Every day the rooms were cleaned and a sculpture type thing was left on the bed for us everyday.
Music did start at 10 everyday which could sometimes be quite loud but it did keep us entertained by the pool, the did water polo in the quieter pool and water gym in the big pool.
The food was ok there was always something to eat i got addicted to the soup!! But my partner eat everything, the had lovely cocktails during night and day and the staff were always very helpful,
The entertainment in the evening varied there was a disco twice. kareoke, african dancers, belly dancers.and fire dancers which made a change,I lover naama bay and went to the club Pasha which was amazing definately recommend this hotel I have been to the Caribbean and worldwide and couldnt fault this hotel

We have just returned from the Garden palms (a group of 10) and we loved every minute of it, we have lovely large rooms looking out onto the quiet pool. the food could have been better but we always had something to eat.
The scuptures on the beds made out of towels were amazing, The staff are very friendly. I must admit I read the reviews after we had booked and it had changed hands and thought it was going to be a disaster but we were pleasantly surprised.
We loved Sayed the pool guy and the 2 animaters called Pop and Katy who made lots of effort with the day time and night entertainment. We never stopped laughing the whole holiday. We went snorkelling with a firm in the town and saved ?20 from the tour operators cost. do be aware when you go into the town (Naarm) as they do hassle you a bit and always cut the cost by 1/2 their price.
Weather much hotter than the guide temp as over 50 most days.
we will definitly be returning !!!!!!! wish I was back there already !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've just got back from this hotel and have been there before. It was so much better in 2006 than now in 2008. Their food is boring and pretty awful and the hotel lounge furniture is looking and feeling very tired and scruffy. The rooms need a refurb badly and the dining area is very basic. I'm not one who usually knocks hotels but the worst thing about it is the food and the "all inclusive drinks". ho ho ho! When you want a lager there is a choice of one....add to that you get itt in a pepsi small plastic cup that is only one third full sometimes.......we put it in a half pint glass and you would need to have five cups to fill it! Very very poor on measures so if you like a pint or two then avoid it because you would need about 20 cups per pint. They deliberately penny pinch all the time and the service is not good at all. The best points about it are that it is clean and rooms are cleaned daily quite nicely. Don't get a room near the pool bar as you may never get an afternoon nap because of the loud music and at night it goes on to after 11 thumping away! And yes you do want to go to bed early as you need to get up at 7 to get a bed with some shade! The "Italian restaurant" is alaugh as the lasagne has no tomatoes in! Italian it is not - you get the same food in the restaurant which is not good at all. Please avoid the salads as they are washed with their water which gave us the "egyptians"!
Don't pay more than 20 egyptian pounds to go into Naama (2 pounds english money) Another bad place to eat is TGI's but DO go to the camel bar and have one of the best indian meals you can have anywhere in the world - priceless ( but only order one rice dish for the 2 of you as its HUGE) If you dive I reccomend OCEAN COLLEGE as they are fantastic and their boat the Seagul has had a refit and is like new and the staff are friendly and helpful and professional in every way. (and one of the cheapest by far on padi advanced courses. Have a great holiday but not at Aramanti Garden Palms if you like a drink and good food and and nice looking surroundings. Maybe prices will sway you but pay that extra hundred quid for a better hotel that serve you properly. AMARANTI LISTEN TO THE PUNTERS AND STOP PENNY PINCHING. I COULD RUN THE PLACE TEN TIMES BETTER AND FILL THE ROOMS - YOU HAV'NT A CLUE!!!!

I am a travel agent in the UK and I feel it was necesarry to post this report.
the food at this hotel was terrible this is the only way that i can describe it and i felt that this spoilt our holiday as we are use to 4 star food and this certainly wasnt,it was barely 2* food it was very repetative and disgusting every night was the same, rice, chicken in horible sauce, fried vegetables, mini burgers and spaghetti bolognaise at the pasta bar, this realy does need flaging up to thomson as the hotel food qualityin the brochure is 83% as a travel agent i wouldnt give this hotel 30% food quality,as an all inclusive i was under the impression that there would be food to eat all day this wasnt the case, it was more like full board as the mini snack bar consisted of dried out potato wedges and fried veg(not something that ud fancy eating) they did not have ice creams or crisps wich was rediculous for an all inclusive,we had to buy crisps etc from the shop?? when we had paid good money for all inclusive???.....there was also several people that came down with tummy bugs why we were there including my boyfriend of whom thought it was the food as he had chicken the night before and it still had blood in the middle????thomson and all the other oprators that sell this hotel need to change the star rating to a 3 star and they need to change the food quality percentage in the brochure as trading standards would have a field day..every thing else about the hotel was 100% the waiters were brill and the rep arhmed was very helpfull to the air con in the rooms makes a terrible racket at night and keep you awake all night i dont think that we had one full nights sleep whilst we were there... the rest of the hotel was lovely realy big pool with plenty of sun lounges the pool was never over crowded and the waiters are brill constantly on there feet topping your drinks up,the italian resturant le mama pizeria is not brilliant either make sure you are early as whenwe booked this at reception they said we can anytime between 8 and 9 we arived at 8.30 and they was going to refuse us the table as they said we were late i explained that we were told BETWEEN 8 AND 9 but they wouldnt listen and the cheff at the italian resturant was very very rude to us and all that i will say that (if looks could kill)this made us feel very unconfortable and we only nibbled at the food and we left without eating the meal (the cheff had a serious attitude problem and new how to make you feel unwanted )

Just returned back from The Amarante Garden Palms (formerly known I believe as the Tropicana Garden Palms).
I must say we have just had a fortnight of absolute bliss, peace and quiet, and fantastic weather.
We believe this hotel has just changed management, the hotel was extremely quiet, we asked where all the guests where as to be honest, there only seemed about 70 guests at the hotel during our fortnight. I think the staff where deciding whether to stay with the new management or go elsewhere.
Yes, there is room for a little improvement, ie we found the food over the fortnight to be very repetitive and the pool bar on an evening was closed which we found wasteful, in 40 degrees it would have been nice to sit around this on an evening.
The staff that had stayed where absolutely brilliant, they could not do enough for you, the housekeeping was second to none, and we have travelled all over the world. Each day we would look forward to opening our door to their wonderful towel creations. We received clean sheets every day, lovely fluffy clean towels every day and more importantly a wonderful smile from the staff.
We made friends with a couple who had actually stayed at this hotel 7 times and were making plans already to go back at christmas.
I just think there a couple of 'teething problems' but overall an excellent standard of hotel. We also understand that there used to be a carvery on an evening and guests where disappointed this was not in place anymore.
Also will miss Pop and Katie's efforts every single day with the Aquagym, Dance Lessons, animation shows, etc etc. I loved joining in because they made it so enjoyable.
So come on Amarante group, this is a lovely hotel, just listen to your guests and make just a few changes!!!!
