Rooms were pretty good.
I didn't eat in the hotel other than the adequate buffet breakfast.
Reception is separate to the hotel.
Each room has its own parking space outside, making it more suitable to a traveller with a car, and its not very far from the motorway network.
Otherwise the location isn't great if you have no car, about 15 minutes from Malpensa by taxi, with nearer hotels to the airport. The railway station is a long walk, but a shorter taxi trip, it wasn't clear if there was a local bus service passing the hotel.
Getting into Milan without your own transport isn't easy. First getting a taxi isn't straightforward, as there only seems to be one in Busto Arsizio, so if he's busy there will be a wait. There are two train stations, I used the main one, trains take about 40 minutes and are cheap, and run about 1/2 hourly. They run to Porta Garibaldi station, just outside the main centre of Milan, so you need to add another 20 minutes or so for the Metro into the centre. Lake Maggiore is about 40 minutes by train in the other direction, worthwhile if you can, with plenty of stations along its side.

Pineta is fairly average, more 3 than 4 star.
