Got booked at this hotel through Fantasy Travel for our honeymoon. By the way -- Fantasy Travel is an amazing travel agency -- very professional, helpful, and put us up in very good places. Anyways, back to the Amazon. The room we had was small, the bathroom was smaller, but everything was clean. But having travelled in Europe -- especially in the big cities -- this is a really good value. The location is the real draw. The hotel is minutes from the Plaka, Syntagma Sq, and the Akropolis. Hundreds of restaurants to choose from nearby too. We'd stop in multiple times during the day to clean up and rest during our three days in Athens. The staff was very helpful too and the breakfast was good. We went on our honeymoon and didn't have a gigantic budget, but this was perfect. Not a place you'd go to impress anyone, but perfect for our needs.

small rooms, and tiny elevators -- not room for 2 people with bags. booked 9 months in advance and requested an acropolis view -- didn't get it. Upon smoozing the only nice desk clerk, on our return from sailing the islands, we did get a view. beds are the size of a gurney, narrow, and hard, not a true twin bed by American standards. GREAT LOCATION and CLEAN! We expect more for $180 a night in the US, but it's Europe!

We stayed at the Hotel Amazon for two nights in June. We found it very comfortable and in an excellent location. It is just a few blocks from Syntagma Sq., the Metro, taxis and busses. It is an easy walk to most tourist sites. It is located on a small street with little traffic so the rooms are relatively quiet. The entrance sits just off ther main street so it is a little difficult to find. It is next to a rug shop so that is your clue. The lobby is small, on the ground floor and it has two elevators which are relatively quick. The breakfast room is one level up and very large with many tables. The breakfast is generous with a very good selection of foods and drink. The rooms are very nice, not spacious but adequate and clean. The furniture is modern and our room included a desk and chair with an in-room safe. The bathroom was spacious with an enclosed shower. It has air conditioning plus windows that open which were a delight at night while sleeping. The staff is very helpful and courteous. I think you will like this one.

We loved our 2 night stay at Hotel Amazon. The hotel is a short walk from Syntagma and the Acropolis. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, however the shower was tiny! The A/C worked very well and was a welcome relief from the hot June temperatures in the upper 90s.

Amazon was in a great location close to public transport and easily walkable distance to all major central city attractions. Staff were helpful and our room was clean and tidy. The bathroom is pretty small and the shower is better designed for gnomes, it wasn't cheap but then we found it's hard to get value for money in Athens. Breakfast was good and we thought overall the hotel was perfect for what we wanted.
