The family hotel is situated near the town centre and shopping area also the local attractions and heritage.
The hotel staff are lovely and always up beat, nothing was too much trouble for me. The receptionist are never to busy to help.
I stayed in a standard double room on breakfast basis and the price was perfect for what i got on a bank holiday weekend. ?89.00 per night for two people sharing. Can't complain!
The breakfast in the morning was brilliant and i could of gone up for more as many times as i liked.
There was a buffett style english breakfast with cereals, fruit, youghuts, juices and teas and coffees.
The indoor swimming pool was clean, warm and supervised. You don't often see that today as it is not compulsory anymore to look after the guests in the leisure areas. There was a gym, solarium and two saunas to use also.
The boot and ball pub was great to watch the football and to have a light lunch with friends.
I would reccomend this hotel to young persons, the older generation and familys with young children.
There is much to do on the island that will cater for all ages.

Having read all the reports I thought I would give the Apollo a go but was quite disappointed. Its fair to say that the location is superb for those who want to see Jersey as its so close to the shopping in St Helier But the standard of the rooms left a bit to be desired.
The room got very hot as there was no air conditioning and as I looked out over the front of the hotel and the road, I couldnt open the window til later in the evening due to the noise.
I put the 'Do not Disturb' tag on my door each morning as I dont like to waste towels or linen, expecting the room to be as I left it - but Each evening came back to find my room had been made up. You may think this is not a big deal but to me it is blatently disregarding the customer's wishes.
And the building is split so I had to man handle my suitcase through an interesting route to check out.
It has to be said (restaurant manager notwithstanding) the staff were friendly and polite and the location is a true asset.

Very centrally located, within easy reach of everything in st hellier.
The staff were very polite and friendly.
The rooms are spacious, but this is where it starts to go a bit downhill.
The rooms need a good update, with cheap wooden furniture and naff tv monitors. The rooms are boiling hot, and thats with the windows open. I had to get my bathroom towels changed as they were dirty, and the shower is so weak.
The hotel itself needs a really good uplift, it is still stuck in the late eighties, judging by the clientelle they dont really care!!!
Not my kind of hotel!

This is a reasonably good hotel.
My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights in April 08.
The room was a decent size, view from the window left something to be desired. Reception staff friendly and helpful.
The place has seen better days to be honest but it's only about 10 minutes walk from St Helier town centre.
Breakfasts were good.
There was a musty smell near the restaurant though. Smelt a bit of cats but it may have been fish from the restaurant.
Still room was clean enough and we had room service breakfast as we had to get off early in the morning and that was OK.
It has an indoor and outdoor pool. though no-one used them when we were there.

I booked the Apollo last minute after having looked at the alternative 3 star hotels in St Heliers. I was really unsure as to what I would be getting after reading the reviews on this site, especially as there were four of us going and I was responsible for choosing.
After staying , I can honestly say we were all really pleased with this hotel. The only criticisms were the showers - not massively powerful, and the central heating was on full all the time, which can make you feel drowsy. The hotel was spotlessly clean, niceley decorated - traditional, not boutique. There was always staff to approach, always helpful and friendly. Our bags were taken up to our room on arrival for us. Everything worked. The superior rooms were worth the extra few quid, overlooking the pool and garden. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were clean and warm and well attended. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, with an incredible choice. The hotel bar was nice on an evening, well tended and a pleasant atmosphere, while the pub attached was incredibly busy and a bit of a mans pub - not a couples pub. The hotel is central and easy to explore from. Well worth the money, and I would definitely return.
