I have stayed here three times when in Bangkok and I must say I really do like it. The rooms are a bit worn out, but the place is not expensive, and the amenities of the 'apartment' are good enough. The breakfast is very good, staff are pleasant and friendly. The best thing is the location. Soi 11 is just fantastic! It feels like my local neighbourhood! I would always choose to stay here when in Bangkok and cannot really see how anyone would be disappointed with it, being essentially a 4* hotel.

Amazing Thailand – Swinging Bangkok – Homely Grand President
After visiting Bangkok in Oct./Nov. 2007 I came back again in April/Mai 2008 and experienced another marvelous six weeks there. With higlights like Songkran-Festvial, The Royal Plough Ceremony, The running of the Olymic Torch, the terrific exhibition “The Support Foundation” of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit in the Chitralada Palace - Bangkok again offered (amongst other things) lot of special and fabulous events for an attentive and interested travaller.
And - as ever - starting point to all these events was again the homely Grand President in the Sukhumvit Road Soi 11. Animated by the pleasant stay in the hotel with its friendly and cheerful staff, I leave the hotel always in good mood and come in to enjoy the vibrating life of Bangkok. The well-situated and quiet location of Grand President offers to me different possibilities to move to every place in Bangkok: Underground, BTS-Skytrain, Taxis and Motorcycles, each of them only some steps far from the Hotel and so easy to get. This is an additional convenience the Grand President offers to its guests. And in the laps of the years Soi 11 has become itself a centre in Bangkoks night life. The exquisit Bed Supper Club (well know in whole Asia) is about 200 m around there, in which Bangkok travellers can mix and enjoy with the “beauty and important” Bangkonese people. The also famous and well known Discothek Q-Bar is just around of Bed Supper Club too, and a new Disco has opened just across the street. So actually there is no need to move far away from the Hotel to experience good entertainment. Additional to that some nice restaurants (Thai, Vietnames, India etc.) and cafe-shops invite for a nice stay and a good diner in Soi 11. But actually – the Grand President itself offers delicious food in a nice restaurant in Tower I (or room service) and a cosy Bavarian and Japanese Restaurant are integrated in Tower II and Tower III. So - everything is very convenient.
Also unique is the pool in Tower II (I call it my Bangkok Beach), my favorite place, in which I can swim my tracks with the skyline of Bangkok in my glance. And always again the nice staff with their heartily smile on their lips: the careful room-maids, the “saluting” and vigilant securities and the helpful bell-boys and staff on the reception. And additonal, also the management has an open ear for everyone.
Everytime before I leave Bangkok, I walk up to Sanam Luang, to visit Khun Sanit, my (english speaking) fortune teller. He mostly tell me some true happenings of the past and give me some helpful advice for the future. Believe it or not - but in one thing he is always right: that I will come back to Bangkok and Grand President in December of this year….

I’m a long time visitor to Thailand and have stayed at quite a few hotels in Bangkok the past 20 years. Without question, the Grand President is my favorite hotel in terms of service, layout, and location. The hotel offers a range of rooms and suites that are suitable for both short term guests and long term residents. I really like the atmosphere on Soi 11 and that I’m within a short walking distance of lower Sukhumvit nightlife area and the Nana BTS station. All in all, I strongly recommend the Grand President for types of tourists, either single travelers or families.

Was in Bangkok for a couple of days, decided on Grand President based on the location and reviews.
Great Location - the hotel is conveniently located and is just a quick 5 minutes walk to the BTS Station. Also located nearby are a number of clubs which cater for the younger crowd. Front office staff was very friendly and efficient. Check in was quick and without any hassle.
The hotel is value for money, paid Baht 2,290 for a studio room. Nice and clean, however furniture is a bit dated. Still its good value for money, as the location more than makes up for this. I rememeber paying USD80 for a room at Bel-Air Princess hotel on one of my precious trips which had much more dated looking rooms. Breakfast was good, again staff were friendly and checkout was quick without any hassle.
