We had alot of problems after our arrival from goa. After a long train ride you usually just want to check in and go into ur room to relax and have a shower.
They wouldnt let my then fiancee' and her brother and I share a room. The female front counter staff were rude and did not care. They wouldnt allow us to share a room and said the only way for us to stay there was to book two rooms. The manager was always on their side, and upon realising that we were foreigners but looked indian he explained that since the ladies at the front desk said no he couldnt do anything.
Because we just wanted a room we paid double as we got two rooms. At the end all three of us ended up sharing a room..
Service quality at hotel is bad. The front counter male attendents during the evenings were very nice though which was a positive.
After charging us for two rooms the manager put us in the old wing of the hotel and not the new. This got us annoyed even more - as a result we were soo dissapointed with the place that after doing the backwaters we caught a flight to Mumbai. Most definately i would not stay at this hotel and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I have never experienced this level of service - esp with a hotel with a 4 star rating. I am sure there are far better hotels in other parts of cochin ...

We loved Ernakulam town, after Delhi and much of the North it was a relief to get to a town where the locals didnt see a dollar sign mounted on your head. We found this establishment to be of average standard. The front desk staff were pleasant but appeared to be confused most of the time.
The breakfast buffet was very ordinary, room service was slow. But once again after northern India it was a pleasure to come to this part of India.

A large hotel in Cochin with nice rooms, we actually had a bath in the bathroom as well as a shower which was nice. Rooftop pool and bistro/coffee shop and also restaurant and gym. The only down side was they had no licence and therefore we were at a loss as to what to do once we had had dinner as there was nowhere to relax over a drink. The restaurant had air con blowing full blast which made it too cold to linger over coffee. There was also too many staff who stifled you and watched every move and virtually picked up your knife and fork for you. We felt we had to whisper in order to have a conversation. We felt we couldn't even discuss the menu together without them forcing themselves upon us. We also asked for a bottle of cold water which arrived tepid. Breakfast was a very varied buffet which we could have also enjoyed more if it had not been for the over attentive staff.
