We were in town for our son's return from his tour in Iraq. We have stayed at the Wingate and the Comfort Inn Cross Creek on previous visits and had no problem with them. This year with the gas prices and other financial concerns we wanted to cut back someplace so decided to check this place out. It was $40.00 cheaper than the other two and included breakfast.
We were in room 274. It had an inside door facing the main road "Skibo". The bed was sooooo comfy and room very clean.
We were alittle concerned that a deployment of 350 soldiers came in that day and thought the partying would be fiece...we didn't hear a sound. The breakfast area the next morning was well stocked and everything fresh. We are coming back up at Thanksgiving and have every intention of booking here again.

Not bad for the price...The Innkeeper did have its issues. First the whirlpools in the rooms didn't work as they should have. Second some of the clientele can be a bit loud at times. Understandably they do get quit a few younger men come through.
However it had its advantages as well. First the complementary breakfast was better than many places...which included milk and sausage biscuits, not simply danishes and juice & coffee. For the price, I found the breakfast to be quit satisfactry. The staff was gracious enough to provide the set-up early in order to accommodate our early departures.
Second I found the location to be most convenient being within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Cross Creek Mall is across the street and other businesses are near.
Service staff were courteous and attentive.

Stayed for a military function on little notice. This was one of two hotels.com said was available under the per diem rate, the other across town. So it has an excellent location for Fort Bragg, maybe 5 minutes from the gate on a terrible day.
Unfortunately they are remodeling and it shows. My partially refurbished bathroom had spackle everywhere, resembling some sort of bowel explosion, across the floor. The wallpaper was peeling as well. The carpet was nasty, as in my feet felt gross from walking around. There is a wide berth under the door so you can hear people yelling at each other or discussing what strip club they are going to on Bragg Blvd. The desk service was hired by a manic-depressive person. Sometimes they are cheery, but the night crew (of which you deal through a window) tended to be amazed I wanted anything (the key would stop working every 2-3 days).
It was $50 or $55 bucks a night, but I'd recommend going up a class to any of the neighboring hotels.

Bad Times at InnKeeper of Fayetteville

When we arrived, the computers were down and it took about 30 minutes to check in. This was a minor problem, but it got worse. We got up to the room and the bathroom had not been cleaned. There were urine droplets on the toilet seat along with pubic hair on the seat. My husband left to visit family members and I stayed at the hotel. I went to bed around 9pm when all of a sudden, I hear a card slip into the lock and my door opened! The man from the front desk was in my doorway! He asked me what my last name was and said that he was just checking to see if anyone was in the room. After that scare, I went back to bed. I had put the latch on the door this time and as soon as I closed my eyes, another card went into my lock and the door opens again...but partially this time. I got up and there were two men with suitcases and they said that the front desk clerk assigned them my room! They apoligized and I called down to the front desk and the clerk acted like it was no big deal. I told him it scared me and he apoligized but kind of blew me off. My husband was livid knowing I was in the hotel room myself and people repetedly tried to enter my hotel room. I have NEVER had anything remotely similar happen to me like this and highly DO NOT recommend this motel. When I checked out, the assistant manager acted like she did not want to help me and just sat there while another girl--I think she was a trainee was working like crazy. I thought I might get a discount or something after all of these problems, but no one seemed to be concerned at all. After all, it's not their motel, right?
You'll enjoy your stay at the Innkeeper
