What was supposed to have been a weekend of relaxation, turned out to be nightmare and I'm still trying to get the problems taken care of by the motel management and in my opinion, the motel management doesn't care how I was treated.
I made confirmed room reservations for a King room.
I called and spoke to the Asst Manager the morning of the reservation and she confirmed everything was good to go.
Upon arrival, all they had available, were Doubles. Upon speaking with the Asst Manager in the morning, she informed me, the motel is only required to give me a room. WRONG ANSWER! I make a confirmed room reservation for a KING, I expect a KING. The Asst Manager supposedly COMP'd the night and told me when I came back to the motel later in the afternoon all I would have to do is pick up the key for an actual KING room. (I had to take all of our luggage out to the car since no where to store it) I came back that night, it took the desk clerk an additional 15 minutes to check me in. He had no knowledge I had a room already in my name. I tried to tell him the deal, but it was a loosing battle.
Upon check out, the Asst Manager told me, all I would be charged on my credit card would be Saturday night, which would be $78.71. When I arrived home, I called my credit card company and told them what happened. The credit card company informed me I was charged nearly $400. Upon talking to the motel management, they assured me, I would not be charged this amount and they would take care of it. Here it is 2 days after the fact, my credit card was only adjusted to $178.00.
Not only are their operating procedures horrible, the mattress in the DOUBLE room was worn out and needed replacing. The toilet cover in the King room needing replaced since it would not stay up when I used the toilet.
The hallways or elevators in the motels had NO air conditioning, extremely warm.
I would think twice in staying at this motel because I know I will never stay here again.

When my husband first enlisted (back them my bf), I found it difficult to find a clean hotel in Jacksonville to stay at when I travelled up on the weekends to visit him. The Innkeeper became my standard. It's relatively cheap (especially if you book in advance with the military or online rate), clean, quiet (not a boot party hotel), has free wireless, and usually does not fill up as quickly as the other hotels in the area. Not great, but it gets the job done. I would recommend for marine relatives who may be in a similar situation. Comfort Suites is a step above if there are rooms available and you're willing to pay more, but the Innkeeper is pretty good.
