I stayed there for 2 days, we arrived before checkin time but the receptionist although clearly busy with some papers promptly welcomed us checking if there was any room ready! We waited in the lounge and bar area about 20min only when came the receptionist friendly informing we could check in!
When we arrived there was no parking left but we expected as it is informed on website but it was alright as it was recommended the NCP which is just 5 min away and cheaper than the hotel one!
Rooms are not the best but it was alright!
At 2pm we were sitting at the bar area having some tea! Weather wasn't kind but staffs were very pleasant making sure we were ok and always smiling!
Breakfast was great, friendly waitresses, lovely pancakes and my husband loved the smelly kippers hahaha
Restaurant is closed on weekends!? But there are many restaurants around, about 3 minutes away!
We are coming back for another weekend!

I have just come back from spending 2-nights at this hotel, and i have to say a travel lodge looks luxurious compared to this! The website gives images of a trendy, CLEAN, boutique style hotel when in actual fact it is hideous. Not only were they double booked (and gave us a twin rather than a double), but ther staff were awfull! The room was mouldy, loud and incredibly basic. The TV looked older than me!!
I would serioulsy not stay at this hotel! I payed ?139 per night expecting something nice and it was definately not! Also, the car park (which i had pre-booked) was full and I was told to go the the NCP which cost ?49.30 for the weekend!
They lock the door at night, which is nice to know it is secure - but then the recpetionist is no where to be seen meaning you are left outside for hours! (you are not aloud to take your key out with you).
I have nothing nice to say about this hotel. I walked to every other hotel in Brighton but they were fully booked, but i would never ever stay here nor recommend it!

The hotel is well located on the seafront. It is a little way out of the centre of town, which means that its is quieter than some hotels on the seafront.
The room that we had was a double - but to get to the far side of the bed you had to climb over your partner as there was insufficient room to walk past the foot of the bed. In contrast, the bathroom was a very good size.
Cleanliness of the room was immaculate and the reception staff were very pleasant.
However the bar was far for well stocked - we asked for a brandy and were told that there were no standard cognacs - only far more expensive brands. The restaurant was closed on the second day of our two night stay, so don't rely on eating there either!

Last year we stayed at the Kings in a last minute deal so not surprised that the room was nothing special but had found staff charming and location ok so thought we'd give it another go. I nearly burst into tears when we saw room 317, I couldn't decide whether to enter it into the Guiness Book of Records as the tiniest room or the biggest airing cupboard! To use the ironing board I had to half wedge it into the bathroom and then couldn't get open the wardrobe! I had planned to use the bar and restaurant but could not bring myself to give them any more of my money. It is a pity, staff are really nice and the bar and breakfast are fine but you have to see room 317 to believe it and I will never go back to The Kings again. I will stick to The Queens, Thistle and Old Ship in future, all hotels I would heartily recommend!

Our room looked nothing like the beautiful website pictures!
The room was small, old with no special decorations, no AC so it was super HOT...
The shower was disgusting!
Check-in is at 3:00pm but we decided to pay extra to be able to check in at 12:30pm.
We arrived a bit earlier at 11:00am and attempted to check and see if we could have our room then.
The receptionist was really rude and without checking whether they had free rooms, he told us that check in is at 3:00pm and when we told him we paid extra for early check in he rudely responded, well it's 11:00.
So we decided to go kill some time on the beach and we returned at 12:45pm for our early check in.
The same receptionist who seemed to have forgotten our faces responded check-in is at 3:00pm.
We told him again that we paid extra to check in earlier and he said that rooms are only paid upon arrival and that nothing is confirmed.
Meaning that if you go on their website and your think you have all these perks reserved...BEWARE...nothing is confirmed until you actually get there...
Again this receptionist gives us this information without looking into the system to see whether rooms are actually free.
As he was telling us this, he had just checked-in a guy and when we mentioned it to him, he replied well he had early check-in too!
After we insisted he look it up on the system, he finally gave us the keys to our room.
Only good thing about this hotel is that it really is right on the beach...but you have so many other better hotels that are also right on the beach...so if you want to be happy, go somewhere else!
And this is for the hotel...Instead of spending so much money making a beautiful website...Use the money to make-over your rooms to make them look like the pictures on your website!
