This is an apartment hotel, equipped and targetted at the business traveller with accommodation options for one night to long term stays.
I used it as a crash-pad for an overnight stay on a business trip - booking a studio apartment. The room was compact, but functional. A comfortable sofa-bed converted the room easily from sittting/working accommodation to sleeping (filling almost the entire room when folded out).
There was also a fairly functional kitchen space with fridge/hob/microwave, which I didn't use - but looked clean and well stocked with utensils.
The workspace was ok - good high-speed internet included, but the cheap hard chair grated after a while. Ok for a couple of hours work, but not a day at the desk.
Location was excellent. Close to a number of metro stops, and a walk from Trocadreo or Charles De Gaulle Etoille.
This is not a place for families, romance, or ambience. It is functional, reliable, consistent and competes well on price with some dingier tourist class hotels if all you want is a reasonable place to work for a couple of hors and crash for the night.

I stayed here for 10 nights on a business trip and found it pretty good. It is part of a chain of serviced apartments so you are pretty much left to your own devices, although staff at reception are friendly and speak English. My room (402) was a one-bedroom apartment (one step up from their "studio apartments", which can be pretty small if the fire escape map on the back of the door is any guide). It had a small but adequate kitchen, CD/radio, ironing board/iron etc. The bedroom was just big enough for a single bed, but did have a little balcony. The room was clean and quiet and just fine for one person. Free high speed Internet connection is handy. The location is excellent, close to plenty of food and wine shops, supermarkets and general shopping. Good local cafes include the Poincare and the Atlanta, both on Avenue Raymond Poincare; and a good restaurant, Le Petit Retro, Rue Mesnil. Two metro stations nearby: Trocadero and Victor Hugo. And, if you must, a McDonalds just along Rue St Didier. All of this cost me 200 Euros per night, booking direct through the Citadines website.

...you see the pictures on various websites of a lovely lobby and a spacious room with two lovely people relaxing in a lounge area. But when you get there the room is a box, it hasn't been decorated since the photos were taken (probably in the 60's) and as well as the peeling paint the view out of the window is of a roof rather than of the local tree-lined street. I have to say I took my fiance here for new year and while we had an amazing time (the hotel is in an excellent location and all of the staff were nice), for what we paid (£175 for two nights) I would say it wasn't worth it. We were put in room 503 - a box room on the top floor (read the other reviews, you'll begin to see a pattern here) - when I found out I shuddered. But nevertheless it was clean, we made the most of it and enjoyed our stay. We saw many 'traditional' hotels nearby that were cheaper and looked as if they were better kept....but then you never can tell until you open the door to your room!

Having never heard of the Citadines apartments, my girlfriend, her sister and I found this site on lastminute and after doing the maths, found it to be just as reasonable as a hotel so we booked ourselves 3 nights over the new year into 2004. Personally, I'm a bit picky with hotels but I have to say that this place was excellent. I would only say that it suited our needs and they were that because we were an odd number we needed somewhere fairly reasonable and central so it worked out cheaper than booking two rooms in a hotel and as we had a kitchen we were able to prepare some snacks and things and sit down in the lounge area. Our apartment was a good size so too was the bedroom and I guess the pull out bed was big enough too. Overall, an excellent location. Walk down the road and your at the eiffel tower!! There is a metro line 2 mins away and plenty of shops and restaurants and even a couple of supermarkets so you can stock the fridge up with cheap french wine!! Well worth the visit.
smelly settee + worn carpet

Stayed there Sept.03. Cost 109.00 + 2 Tax Per Night, a(so called) `special internet deal` For a studio for two people. What we got the smallest Apartment in the building, No;502, they offered to move us to No;511 for an extra 56 per night, but it wasn`t much bigger + was next to the lift, No;502 is suitable for one person not two, its very cramped with too much furniture which has to be moved about in order to fold out the bedsettee, there was a dinner table but only one chair which fell apart when I sat on it and had to replaced we didn`t ask for a second chair as there was no where to put it The settee cushions stank of body odour + the carpet was covered in bleach stains + burn marks. The safe sits on top of a large desk, but its not secured to anything, other guests had left rubbish and food debris under the bedsettee which housekeeping had missed when cleaning between clients. We have stayed in other citadines studios in other parts of Paris + Barcelona they were much better than this place. We were asked for full payment on arrival although we had guaranteed the booking with a credit card, when I saw the Apartment I realised why, on the plus side the room was bright + had a full bathroom + well equipped kitchenette, both of these areas were clean
