Located in the Latin Quarter near lots of restaurants and bars. 1 minute from the metro - very handy. This area is cheap to eat and drink in compared to rest of Paris.
The back of the hotel is built into a shopping centre - with a supermarket - when you open your window you are in the shopping centre.
The rooms were clean and staff friendly but they were very small, especially when you pull out the bed (which can be difficult when you are sober). Bed was comfortable.
There is a kitchen with a fridge, cooker and mini dishwasher.
Bathroom was small but looked newly decorated. Shower was good and warm.

I booked this hotel because I was catching up with a friend who was staying there. I managed to get a great last minute price from the hotel website (booked 2 days before). It's situated beside a large shopping centre and is on several train lines, making it easy to get around on public transport, which you need to use as it's too far to walk to the main attractions of Paris.
The rooms were clean, if a bit old. They call it an apartment hotel, but it's more like a small hotel room with a kitchenette attached. There's a sofa in the room and the bed is actually a roll-out bed hidden under the sofa. When it's fully rolled out, there's hardly any room to move around in the room - I guess this is Paris, so this is probably to be expected.
There's one free internet terminal in the lobby, but that's constantly in use, and given the hundreds of rooms in the place, that's not surprising.

Good value in Paris

This is an apartment hotel very close to Place d'Italie which - although a little out of the centre has a Metro within 50 yards.
We got a good rate of 115 euros per night [the normal is 125 to 139] and for that got a good room with a huge bathroom and a kitchenette where you could have - with care - cooked a reasonable meal. There was a microwave, kettle and even a dishwasher.
My only grouse was that there was not a double bed and absolutely nothing was provided in the kitchen. No dishwasher tablets no salt no washing up liquid.
Thumbs up, good value

Citadines Place d'italie, was a fine place to stay for a week. I had a little reservation regarding the fold out bed, but the bed was really quite good and better than any fold out I've ever seen / slept on. The matress was thick, and i slept fine. That said, it was still a fold out and not as good as a regular bed you might find in a decent US hotel.
The hotel staff was helpful and the place was clean. We had no technical problems. The in room safe worked fine. The kitchenette was really well equiped with nice granite countertops, a 3 burner cook top, a convection microwave, even a mini-dishwasher (worked great).
The location is great. It's a busy round about area but the hotel windows face a side street, and the windows are really well made, so it's quiet without having to stay in the suburbs. The hotel is right over a metro stop that has good connections to everywhere (of course) and a straight shot to the Eiffle Tower.
A few things not to miss: the street market sunday along one of the radial streets - awesome food, a good place to get fresh goods to make in your kitchen. And take a walk in the side streets around the Place D'Italie -- there are may good hidden gems back there - shops & restaurants. The neighborhood is a good relief from the intense tourist only areas closer to the center of town.

We stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon in April. The best part about this place was the amazing view of the Eiffel Tower - it was just breathtaking, and to see that from our window was unbelievable. So definitely ask for a room facing the street in order to see this (some rooms face onto the inside of the small shopping centre which wouldn't be so good). We were very impressed with this.
It's located right across the road from the Place D'Italie train station, however we still somehow managed to get lost and miss the entrance a few times! The staff here are great though and speak English. There's also a free internet in the lobby which was quick and easy to use, and I didn't have to wait for too long for it ever.
I would recommed NOT to have the breakfast there - the selection is okay but the room is strange and uninviting. You'll get a much more pleasant experience by having breakfast in one of the cafes close to the hotel or getting on the train and going somewhere else.
The room itself was clean and nice. The bed was a fold out sofa bed but was still comfortable. Overall, we were very happy with it. Oh, and if you go walking around the area it's not far from a little cobbled street filled with shops - I think it's the Latin Quarter and it is absolutely beautiful and to die for - DELICIOUS food and icecreams and soooo many things to buy.
I would probably stay there again.
