The hotel is located in a truly filthy, dreadful rubbish tip of a place with bad transport links. The breakfast was insulting. Packets of biscuits, weak coffee from a machine, bad paper thin towels. It is a small hotel, difficult to find, overlooking a fish factory. Don't go there!!! Naples...oh, I don't even want to write about it, for two reasons: most of all, it makes me sound like a whimpering, conservative tourist with questionable categories, and secondly, because I don't want to do the mental geography of going back there that the writing requires. Suffice it to say, Naples was horrible, filthy (and I have been to India and Pakistan), very noisy and chaotic and aggressive, really alarming housing stock, it also stinks because of all the piles of rotting rubbish that private companies (controlled by the Camorra or mafia) fail to remove, and which have seeped into the soil and contaminated the water table and local produce of the environs. It's so-called "energy" is repulsive, manufactured artificially probably by coffee, and so therefore ultimately baseless and needlessly hysterical, often converging on many dreaded street crossing experiences in the form of Vespas and cars which cut across pedestrian green lights with abandon. One has to gang together with others to cross the street, stragglers and marchers are terrorized, maimed, executed. There is no pedestrian rhythm, only uncertainty, with glimpses of a cornice or filtered view here and there that might have offered respite in a previous age and is now blinkered by the survival instincts of the now.

We stayed in this new hotel for one night due to the good price for 3 people and parking and breakfast were included. It is not centrally located but easy to get to the center of Naples by public transportation. We did have trouble finding it following their website directions due to construction on Via Nuovo Poggioreale (Dec. 2007). You should follow Via Nuovo Poggioreale until you are are forced to turn right due to construction. Follow that road all the way to the stop sign and then you should be able to see the white signs for the hotel. It is not in a great neighborhood and I would not recommend it for women traveling alone as I would not feel comfortable coming back to the hotel alone after dark. The room was decorated very nicely and everything was working and clean. The staff did not speak much English, but tried to help as best they could. The breakfast consisted of pastries, meat, cheese and cereal, but I would advise them to get rid of the automatic coffee/hot chocolate machine as the cappuccino was the worst I have had in Italy and I have been here for 6 months. Just a comment, not a complaint, but being a newer hotel I was surprised they did not have flat screen TVs. It was a good value and served our purpose for a one night stay since we were leaving for Sorrento the next day. If I were staying longer, I would chose accommodations closer to the city center.
Hard to find, but reasonable price

Hotel Joyfull, apart from being out of the way in Naples (our cab driver even had to look it up), was a very nice, recently remodeled hotel with a decent european breakfast. The big key is getting to and from this hotel. From the main train center (Napoli Garibaldi) take the Circumvesuviana train towards Acerra and get off at the Poggorieale station (two stops). It is this trek from this station to the hotel that becomes a bit interesting. For example, "glass and shoe" alley became a running joke with my husband as you had to walk through a section of sidewalk where people apparently regularly lost their shoes and there was lots of broken glass (avoid flip flops). Despite a strange neighborhood (think trash and the strange aroma of Naples pervading the air), once you get to know the neighborhood you realize that it is a close community where the young and old commune in the streets both night and day. Overall, the hotel accomdations were spacious, well air-conditioned, and nice. Only comment is that the beds here were literally like sleeping on plywood - by far the firmest mattresses we had on our honeymoon. As other reviewers noted, the staff does speak limited English. However the morning brekkie with cereal, blood orange juice, and an assortment of brioches, meats and cheese (no tuscan rolls) was adequate. Overall 3* experience for its daunting first impression and extremely firm beds.

E' stata un'esperienza fantastica.
Lo staff di questo hotel nuovo ed elegante è veramente molto simpatico ed accogliente ... dei professionisti dell'ospitalità.
L'hotel è molto bello e soprattutto molto pulito.

We went to Italy for our honeymoon and our stay at the joyful was in accordance with our needs. For only 60€/night we had everything we hoped for.
The hotel was brand new and with a high standard decoration.
We found the bedroom and bathroom just as in a palace (quiet, spacious and spoteless clean; huge balcony; tv with bbc world channel). The hotel facilities included a private car park, a lift and airc conditioning.
The breakfast was fabulous with a wide selection of food and drinks. The staff was very friendly and courteous. It also spoke French and English very well.
It's true that the location of the hotel is not particularly attractive but the private car park , the security cameras as well as the fantastic hotel hall made us at ease and reassured immediately. We certainly recommend this hotel and we would happily go back there again.
Thank you to the Joyfull hotel!!
