Stayed one night at the Russ, would rather sleep in a tent at the end of the runway next time!!! terrible room, terrible bed, over priced drinks, no lift and the transfers to the airport are chaotic to say the best!!!

got here after flight from egypt room was damp bed was damp and smelled terrible changed rooms every flight landing at gatwick flew directly over hotel very noisey second room was minute with a shower you would of had to jump about in to get wet pulled back duvet on bed and u would thought someone had just got out of the bed don't go here the place was more tired than me!!!!

My wife and I thought we would stay overnight as we were travelling to America , i booked the Russ Hotel after looking at their website. Thinking we would be fresh for our long journey soon evarporated once we entered our room which was small, dirty and unwelcoming. The food was awful i sent mine back. At 9.30 my wife tried to have a shower that didnt work after an hours wait we were offered a shower in another room but asked to stay in our room after telling the manager i wasnt happy he let us stay in the room with the working shower. We both had breakfast the next morning what a disaster two full english breakfasts ?23. One night , breakfast and 8 days parking total ?200 what a ripoff i will never never never use this hotel again

Well.... i think the reviews i have read so far sum this place up. We booked this as the website we used said "Best Choice". No disrespect here.... but its a great choice if your blind!. We arrived to a remote "hotel" i use the word loosely... and checked in... the decor in the reception made me feel i was at Alton Towers Haunted Hotel Ride... we checked in and got our room "key" yes a key.... To be fair the restaurant area looked nice... the prices did not... then we had a severe change of heart as we passed the door threshold into the corridor.... it was like stepping back into a new york squat. You know the motel in the film where gun shots rain out and you can hear the couple next door beating other up. We opened the room door and was greeted with a small room, with a window that was designed to keep burglars out, as no person would ever fit thought it!, but we air con.... which did not work. At least the hot water did.... We ordered room "service" and after 6 mins of waiting on the phone we placed out order to the value of ?22! for two sandwiches!!! Hold this thought... i had a cheese and pickle one, my other half who a veggie ordered a VEGGIE one. Anyhow some half hour later a rather poshly dressed man arrived... i assumed he has walked from the Gatwick Hilton and got lost or something....or he was part of the fancy dress party as he did not fit in at all... he handed over our food and left... mine was ok.... where as the veggie option contained chicken. nice touch. We complained.... the smart waiter arrived again, thus confirming my suspicion he WAS the real waiter and brought the correct sandwich... A "sorry" would of been nice.. Anyhow we watched big brother and set off to sleep...... Well tried to... we booked a "quiet room".... the quiet room we where in was under the main undercarriage of every single plane that took off and landed... we sleep for about 30 mins.... The bed was uneven, i still say it was damp.... but it felt cold... the air con did not work, the wall paper was peeling... i could go on... but im sure every review on here says the same! To some it up.... this was worse than sleeping rough. NEVER ever will i stay here again................EVER!

This hotel is disgusting!!!! we stayed here the night before going to Cuba. we had 3 small children in the party the oldest being 13 at the time. and we where put in seperate rooms 2 floors away from eachother!!! it has some kind of underground party/club thing..which meant we didnt get a wink of sleep. the hotels resturant is very pricy..for egg and chips!!!! we came home to find our brand new jaguar..(had it around 2 months) tyres had been cut!! so we had a flat tyre..which was not good as we where driving back up towards manchester!!!! just dont go!!! save yourself money.. cheap hotel but tbh i'd rather of payed the extra!!!!!
