Great value for money

Hotel Minerva Grand provides comfortable and spacious rooms and real value for money. The room I stayed in had a separate living area with couch, desk and TV, and adjacent to this was the bedroom, with king sized bed, and bathroom. The decor was modern. The TV station selection was fair, there where only a handful of english stations and the reception was a little fuzzy. Bottled water was provided in the mini bar for a small cost, and the staff replenished the water supplies at least twice daily. The bathroom was clean.
The hotel has a fitness centre with treadmill, cross trainer, bike and a small selection of weight machines.
I ate at the Fiesta Cafe and the Indian food selection was great and the meals delicious. Western style breakfast options were pretty limited - two types of cereals, some toast, jam and crossaints. There was also porridge, but that looked pretty ordinary, and I think there was also bacon and eggs. I stuck to the Indian dishes.
The hotel is located within walking distance of shopping malls. I did some sight seeing around Hyderabad- the lobby did not have an array of sightseeing options and brochures as I would have expected, nor any day tour options of the city, but I had done my research before I left and told the concierge what I wanted to see, and one of the staff members also suggested an itineary for me. The hotel organised a driver for me for the day at a cost of about $30 Australian to go and visit the attractions.
My only complaint was that the bed was super-hard.

Generally I liked the experience, it is a business hotel and they covered all the main issues. I was there four four nights. The room was very clean and updated. The room had a living area, a bedroom and bath.. All were very roomy. The bath was all marble. I used room service for laundry and they did fine. The TV was in the bedroom and there was not one in the living area which meant you had to watch TV form the bed. The fitness center was small but adequate, however it was rarely open and you had to call and a trainer would come open it and be there while you were working out. He was trying to be helpful but I have my routine and really did not want any suggestions. The coffee/meal area was baisc and mainly Indian with not much variety day to day. The restuarant was adequate mainly Indian. Neither would be considered destinations but rather a place to eat on a business trip. The help was okay but not really dialed into American business people. You could tell their level of service/interaction was not as high as it should be. Location not really close to anything. Again, very good business hotel but not a vacation resort.

Don't Go to Grand Minerva, Find something else instead. The food might be good but customer service and rooms are filthy.
Oh and they don't have any non-smoking rooms (That's what the hotel staff told us!!).
I had booked this hotel for 2 nights for my ma and brother. I had booked the standard room, which cost me about 6000 Rs/night (approximately $150/night) through Orbitz
When my ma and brother checked in, they were given the smallest room in the hotel, with 2 very tiny beds, non-existent windows and smelly bathroom. This was not what we paid for, and when we asked them what happened, they "upgraded" the room to a better floor, with larger room and much better facilities. (We were told, we were supposed to get this room, but someone messed up)
The beds were comfy, fluffy and the room was decent. B'fast was good too....Unfortunately, the room was in the smoking section of the hotel. This inspite my booking a non smoking standard 2 twin bed room. When they went back and requested a non-smoking room, my ma was dismissed off saying thats all we have. Stay if you want to, or leave. We don't have any other options.
What do you think she did? She walked right out of the hotel and found something else. We are very displeased with Grand Minerva's customer service. I hope they work on this sooner, else they will loose customers like me who go to india often.
I know I will have nothing to do with Grand Minerva.
I was in vizag for a few days and found Daspalla's customer service, hotel, rates and facilities in much better shape. From what i understand, they are planning on opening something similar in Hyderabad. Next time if I am in hyderabad, and if Daspalla is open, I am going to be booking my holidays with daspalla; and not Minerva Grand. I was angry, insulted and disappointed with Minerva Grand's customer service.

It's a business oriented hotel...
I've stayed here for 2 months (business in Hyderabad)...the place I worked was in the same complex, that's why I chose this hotel.
Pros:
- Staff is friendly
- Rooms are clean and nice
- Food is great
Cons:
- The breakfast buffet is always the same...after 2 months I got sick of eating the same things over and over again. The dinner and lunch buffets are varying a bit (max 3 types of non-indian and mostly vegetarian food changed daily).
-Coffee is horrible... I switched to instant coffee. Actually, if you visit india and you are from Europe .. drinking short and strong coffees, bring your own cofee...the whole india drinks it tall and thin. The Coffee Shop is only a name for the buffet restaurant. They only have one type of coffee.
- Room service is not very speedy..and they make many mistakes on your order.
- You only have 3 lamps in your room...if you prefer a lot of light, you're in trouble..
- Wi-Fi is way overpriced....about $2.5 for 1 hour, $12 for 24 hours and you get a poor 256kb connection...their counting system is buggy too..if you close your laptop and you forget to logout manually from their system, they're still charging...
- The house keeping services can be pretty annoying if you sleep during the day. Don't forget to add the "Do not disturb" tag on your door. Even so, they are constantly working or fixing something on the hall so it gets noisy.
- The reception will call you even if you have the DND tag on the door just to check if you want to order something or if you have laundry. ( I think they are actually checking if you're still alive or you haven't checked out without paying)
- You can only order sandwiches after 11 PM.
- The "continental" food is still made the Indian style.. I ordered pastas but they were spicy and they didn't looked at all like the italian style pastas even if they tasted ok and so on..
- Socializing with the waiters can result in a not so polite attitude towards you so you're better by keeping the limits.
