We arrived at the Cross after a short walk from Namba station after catching the Rapit train (on the Nankai- Namba line) from Kansai airport. I kept thinking what a great decision I had made to book us in at the Cross Hotel and nothing let me down in the following two days we stayed there !!
This hotel represents true value for money in Japan. Compact, clean and funky rooms with great facilities and one of the best bathrooms we encountered in our ten days in japan. Vending machines on every floor replace the Mini bar and a range of restaurants and cafes are a short walk from the hotel.
On our first evening we headed for a 5 minute stroll across the river to the Dotomburi area where we were beseiged with dining options. There is everything you could want available in these streets and heaps of entertainment to amuse. In the opposite direction are the department stores eg Daimaru and some more upmarket boutiques. A trip to the basement food hall in Daimaru is an experience not to be missed if you have any foodie instincts.
All in all its all good at the Cross. Would we stay again ? Definately!!

The interior of this hotel is ultra mod - decorated in red, white, dark gray and black. The rooms are small, but very functional. The hallways are really dark...they are painted a very dark gray.
I booked this room via a third party website, it worked okay - but I'd recommend just going through the hotels website (which I didn't find until too late). The staff at the front desk were helpful and spoke some english.
It is in a great location, near the Namba subway/JR stations. There is a breakfast buffet, but we just went to the place next door (Cafe Solare) and had a light breakfast and coffee for about $5.

The hotel was a great find with easy access to good food within 10 mins walk and a 24-hour supermarket less than 5 mins away. Our room was always clean and smoke-free (we have requested for a non-smoking room). Hotel setting is very chic and staff have been very friendly and helpful. We love the toilet - decent size with constant supply of good quality toiletries. There is even a small bathing area by the bathtub - hotel provides a small stool and pail - good for quick wash-up. Hotel is a pick-up stop for airport limousine to both domestic and international airports - important if you have a lot to carry.
