Really liked this hotel, good value for money. There is nothing outside of this hotel so it means a tuk tuk or cab ride to get to anywhere.
Very comfortable with a 5 star breakfast. Staff helpful and rooms cosy and large.
We have stayed here twice and you will get asked if you want to upgrade your room which included breakfast when you arrive. We did this for the breakfast as there was no where else to eat locally. This was well worth it for the breakfast but the rooms were not much better.
The pool and bar on the rooftop were lovely and the bar at night was peaceful, with fairylights and a great breeze on a hot night!
Good value, great rooms, pool and breakfast, location lets it down, but tuk tuks are a cheep form of travel and are in abundance, would recommend!

I stayed at the Amari Atrium Bangkok on the 14th and 15th of July, 2008. Major drawback-It is badly located and you need a taxi to go anywhere within Bangkok-the taxi drivers refuse to run the meter and overcharge, some tell you that they will not run the meter once you are well on the way, leaving you stuck. The hotel staff is fairly polite. Rooms are average-though clean they have a musty smell, in terms of furnishings the rooms are very minimalistic. The complimentary mineral water provided has the most terrible taste. The hotel's limousine service and travel desk appears to have been outsourced. The limousine/car service is extremely overpriced and the person sitting at the limousine desk looks quite slimy and the kind who will rip you off. Also the travel desk chap is very unhelpful as well.
All in all, the stay at this hotel is avoidable keeping in mind the location and extremely average rooms. One can get a much better hotel in central Bangkok at the rates offered by the Amari Atrium.

We stayed at the Amari Atrium for three nights as part of a stopover package. The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful. They were most concerned when our pick up for a booked tour was late. When we arrived we were offered an upgrade, at extra cost. We declined and found that our more basic accomodation was ideal for us. We didn't use the hotel restaurants. The Hut, a small family run establishment on the main road, served delicious, authentic Thai cooking. The location of the Amari Atrium is not ideal if you want to explore Bangkok independently. It is fine if you are taking booked tours or are prepared to use the hotel shuttle services. We took the shuttle to the Night Market but it was one way only and we had to make the return trip by taxi. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Amari Atrium to anyone who doesn't want a central location.

The problems you will encounter is that all the staff smile and say yes......... specially where tips are concerned - BUT they do not understand the words you say. Smile and nodd and make errors glore - VERY fustrating - be careful what you book and what they try and charge you - also never let your credit card out of your sight. At this hotel everything is charged for ..........!!!

A great hotel and a firm favourite. The staff are uniformly polite, smiling and friendly - a great pity that the same cannot be said for too many of the rude, boorish guests whom one finds so often, and of all nationalities.
The hotel is always clean and well maintained in our experience of many visits. Breakfasts are outstanding, though on site food is expensive.
The location is not ideal for tourists, being in the more commercial / residential area of New Phetburi Road, though the new underground is only 10 minutes walk. The hotel also offers a shuttle into the centre. If you wish to be in the thick of "tourist Bangkok" this is not the place for you. Here though you will see a little of the real Bangkok ad will not have to venture far to see the real city.
A great hotel and very reasonably priced - I would not recommend paying for more than a standard room. Downsides, beside the "non tourist" location are the pool - quite small and soon becomes crowded - not a great sun terrace, though the little used terrace at the back of the hotel is better.
There are cheaper hotels, but the Amari chain remain firm favourites with these regular visitors to Bangkok.
