My wife and myself spent a wonderful weekend at Hotel Roma in early July the hotel is lovely the rooms are very clean and tidy and the staff were lovely and all could speak English and were always willing to give advice and directions. I was a bit worried after reading other reviews about the distance from the sights but you are only 1 stops away from Charles Bridge on the tram and then just a very short walk onto the bridge and you are a short distance from Prague Castle by tram and just accross the road from the hotel you can go up to Petrin Tower and it is well woth a visit .This Hotel is very well situated to see all the attractions
The breakfast in the hotel is very nice and thee is always pleany to choose from ,regarding the bar in the Hotel it is priced very steep but there are a few lovely pubs beside the hotel where you can get wonderful Czech beer at very cheap prices
Prague is a wonderful city with so much to see and admire and once you pay attention to the prices in different bars and restauraunts you wont get ripped off as there can be a substantial difference from place to place The food was wonderful and the beer was really nice much better than any beer you will find in Ireland so easy to drink (to easy ) and no problems the following morning woke up every morning with a clear head even after over indulging the night before
You wont be sorry if you stay at this hotel for both comfort and location

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the roma. The room was excellent - clean with a comfortable kingsize bed and the staff were friendly and very helpful.
There is a breakfast buffet included in the price which comprised cereals, juices, pastries, breads, eggs, meats etc. Although the same everyday the choice was large enough to keep most people happy.
The location is excellent - about 10 mins stroll to the Charles bridge through a lovely open green area. Ask for a rear room to be away from the road running along the front. A tip for eating out. There are some restaraunts around the corner where the food is delightful and considerabley cheaper than eating in the old town. A meal for 2 with (a few) drinks for 20 GBP
If there are any improvements to the hotel it would be having tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a hook for the shower and a curtain.
Would we return - most certainly!

I stayed in the Roma Hotel three nights last week with two friends during a girlie trip to Prague. We arrived very late Tuesday evening following a flight delay and were relieved to be greeted by a friendly, English speaking receptionist who speedily checked us into our room with the minimum of fuss. Our triple room was roomy, clean and tidy with plenty of storage space, a hairdryer, safety deposit box, minibar, tv and a very modern spacious bathroom. The only thing the room really lacked were tea/coffee making facilities.
Breakfast is served from 7 - 10 am, in a pleasant, roomy dining room. There is plenty of choice - fruit, yogurts, breads, pastries, cereal, toast, scrambled eggs, cheese, cold meats etc and it was all very tasty
The hotel is situated a 10 minute walk from the Charles Bridge and there are plenty of restaurants, shops etc nearby. I would particularly recommend a restaurant called Donate which is just across the road, the food is of a very good standard, prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. Other recommended eating places = Cream & Dreams for delicious cakes and ice cream and Hotel U Kocku close to old town square for pizza and beer.
There is a tram stop very close to the hotel from which you can catch a tram up to the historic Prague castle.
Overall, I found the Roma Hotel to be a great base during my stay in Prague and would definitely recommend it

My husband and I spent three superb nights at this location. The room was on the fourth floor over looking the courtyard, therefore away from the hussle and bussle of the night time traffic.
We somehow managed to walk up Petrin Hill on to occasions and each time we saw a different view. My husband did persuade me to go up Petrin Tower (fine if you don't mind heights, must say I was more relaxed on my descent).
We dined at the restaurant ajoining the hotel (Bastille) and on two occasions at a Chinese restaurant called Dobry Den, which was close to the Palladium shopping center and I must say it was worth it and the price was very reasonable. Our memory of there was when we tried to order Prawn Crackers and I had to take the waitress outside to show her the picture, turns out that they are called 'chips'.
I wouldn't like to guess how many miles we walked, though I am glad that I took a decent pair of boots, so bear that in mind when packing.
We would definately return to Prague and would consider returning to the Roma Hotel, due to the location and also the friendly staff.

Feb 08 - we had a lovely 5 nights stay in this Hotel in a triple room. Daughter had 'proper' single bed (not settee / camp-bed). Hotel spotless throughout; room was unbelieveably quiet at night, no noise whatsoever. Reception staff extremely helpful, they arranged Trip to Kutna Hora for us no problem and ensured pick-up at Hotel for us etc. There are two free internet units in the main foyer which is a nice touch.
The Hotel is only 10 mins nice walk along shops and restaurants to Charles Bridge and then over into "old town". We rate this hotel as excellent.
Prague has lovely well preserved historic buildings and streets everywhere. Only Wencesles Square a bit disappointing as it's really just a high street! Sky-line fantastic, especially from views along the hills above Mala Strana (get the Funnicular Railway up). City was very clean, so much to see, great restaurants everywhere and really competitive prices. This was one of the best short breaks we've had, enjoyed it far more that we'd anticipated.
