We stayed for 2 nights and we were very happy with everything. The receptionist was very friendly and check in was fast. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. The resatuarant and bar staff were very friendly and professional. We had a standard room which was large and had a large bathroom with a shower and bath. I recommend you get a room with air conditioning as the rooms get quite warm. Overall a lovely place to stay. We will definitely be returning.

Stayed for one night, first visit to Cork City, check-in was quick and easy, the (free) underground parking saved us from the rain. Room was absolutely fantastic, very clean, flat screen t.v., tea/coffee. Bathroom was lovely, really appreciated the separate bath & shower. Beds were very comfortable too. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna & steam room were great, easy to access, no hidden charges. There was a wedding on in the hotel, lobby & bar were busy but it really didn't impact our stay too much, there was a little noise but nothing to severe.
Hotel is located about 10 minutes drive from Cork city centre, Ballincollig itself is a nice town, has a few coffee shops (open Sundays which was good for us) so even at room only in the hotel, you'll still find somewhere local for a cheaper breakfast than offered in hotel.
Would recommend in a flash!

Upon arrival the exterior was impressive. Checking in was a nonsense, all information was given at the time of booking, but had not been sent through to reception correctly, causing confusion, I was made to feel as if I had been dismissed by the staff, and to top it all off, at no time were we made aware that there was a party taking place until 2.00am. Until of course we phoned reception. Thus, no sleep prior to this time. Had we have been aware that this party were taking place at the time of booking we would certainly have booked elsewhere, had we have been made aware when we checked in we would certainly have requested a different room. Breakfast, we were asked our room numbers then left to our own devices, when asked "do we sit anywhere" we were told "yes" any clever member of staff would have realised that we had not been there before and would have been more forth coming with information on the buffet style breakfast plus the full Irish and how to obtain it. That said once we did receive our breakfast it was little of, cold and unappetising, needless to say we left it. On departure the computer system had gone down and we were unable to check out straight away, making us late for the Holy communion we were there to attend. There were other minor issues but I feel enough has been said. Needless to say we will not be staying there again.

What a great hotel. We stayed there after a recommendation from a friend who works in a sister hotel of the Oriel. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a nice, spacious bathroom. It has to have one of the best showers I have ever experienced! We were on a room-only rate, which was very reasonable.
While we were out, the staff placed a complimentary chocolate and lavender pot pourri thingy on the bed, as well as a very useful information leaflet. This was a simple, photocopied affair, with the weather forecast and various useful bits of information on it.
The hotel has a very nice bar. There was a wedding taking place on the night we stayed, but you'd hardly notice that it was there! All in all, a superb experience.

Just back from a long weekend at this hotel which was lovely. Rooms were spacious and clean with some lovely little extras (chocs on pillow at night). Food was good in the restaurant. Even though there was two wedings and a number of other functions this weekend, the bar was relatively quiet. There are some really nice pubs and restaurants a short stroll away and we found a great little italian restaurant with great athmosphere.
Overall it was a very good hotel for a lovely weekend.
