On the positive side the hotel is modern, safe and attractive. The staff is efficient and courteous, if not especially friendly. The AC might have been good enough for most people and they also had a large electric fan I used. It is about 4 blocks to a square with many major bus routes. breakfast is served outside in a nice courtyard and is bountiful if a little boring (same thing every day).
On the negative side, I found the hotel pricey. I would have liked some feature like a small pool to justify the cost. I have lived and travelled extensively in Europe. My single room while well designed was perhaps the smallest I have ever had. The hotel was clearly not full and I stayed 8 nights so they could have easily put me in a double room. There were no drawers. Suitcases had to go under the bed which was one hard mattress on a wooden frame. The bathroom was modern but not designed well so the door presented a problem. The room had one ill-placed window so it was dark. I had no chair.
The courtyard is beautiful but fairly boring. No one was ever there except for breakfast. I would have preferred a roof top setting or outside bar to people watch. The courtyard would be nice if you had small kids or family staying in several rooms.
I stayed in the Albergo del Senato Hotel beside the Pantheon
in Dec. I liked that hotel and the that area much better. Campo de Fiori near the Ponte Sisto was mostly tourist trap restaurants filled with Americans and Australians.
In short, I might go back to Sisto Ponte but only for a better price.
Overall, a good experience

We stayed at the Hotel Ponte Sisto for a week in February of 2007. My wife found it on the internet and thought the reviews were good, but one never knows. It turned out to be one of the best European hotels we have stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few. Excellent location, just a few streets away from the Campo de Fiore, Piazza Farnese. With a few exceptions, you can walk to most of the main locations in the City. The rooms were more than adequate, clean and comfortable with a terrific (all you could hope for ) breakfast every morning. The best part of the hotel was the staff ( front desk, breakfast room, concierge, doorman) who were always available and glad to be of service to assure your stay was all you expected. It's not the least expensive, but for the rate we paid, it was excellent value. It's the kind of hotel that once you've stayed there, you will never again have to look for another hotel in Rome, it's where you'll stay every time you return.

Stayed at this hotel June 15-20, 2008 and enjoyed every aspect of it. the room was lovely, good sized for European standards, lovely linens & very clean. the bathroom was big and had a window which i enjoyed. the courtyard area for breakfast was beautiful and i thought the breakfast was very nice, both cold & hot selections and great coffee in a pot on our table every morning.
the staff was wonderful, very attentive and the location was our favorite! easy walking to plenty of cafes, gelatto, sites, shopping. We can not wait to return to Rome & this hotel. thanks to Trip Advisor i found it.
