Olivia Plaza Hotel is a 4-star brand new hotel opened in February 2006 in the centre of Barcelona. The whole building is non-smoking except for the opened areas of the terrace and the restaurant. The lobby at the Olivia Plaza is designed with grey marble floors and dark walls. The hotel is a perfect place for business meetings. It has a business center with 3 conference rooms for up till 60 people with natural light and with the following amenities including a screen for presentations, LCD, slide projector, PA system, internet connection and more. The other amenities include multilingual staff, 24-hour reception, lift, safe, a currency exchange, room, laundry and dry cleaning services, car parking in the garage, a library, Wi-Fi Internet Point, baby-sitting as well as translation, interpreting, secretarial and banqueting services upon request.

There are 113 deluxe rooms spread over 11 floors of which 9 are suites. All the rooms face either Cataluna Square or Santa Ana’s Church. They are decorated in creamy, slate, olive green and chocolate-brown colors and are completely sound proof. The rooms are appointed with such as facilities as central heating, air-conditioning, hair dryer, free Wi-Fi internet access, safes, satellite television, automatic curtain, telephone exterior line and minibar. Besides there are special rooms for disabled guests, as well as cots and a sofa-beds to make a triple room.

Location

Olivia Plaza Hotel is located in the heart of Catalunya Square, very close to the Modernist Barcelona, the financial and commercial city centre, most famous museums as well as touristic attractions such as Palacio Guell, the Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Casa Batllo and Paseo de Gracia. Barcelona El Prat Airport is at 16-kilometer distance from the hotel.

Restaurants

Olivia Plaza Hotel has a modern snack bar, located in the lobby with a very nice terrace, and a restaurant on the 10th floor from offering fabulous views of the Gothic district, the cathedral, Montjuic and the Mediterranean Sea. A complete breakfast-buffet is served in the lobby with all kinds of food such as cereals, croissants, juices, teas, mini-sandwiches, sausages etc. The bar with local cuisine a la carte, drinks and snacks is available from 11:00 until 23:00. The Nineteen restaurant serves regional Spanish cuisine and is furnished with white chairs, polished floors and dark-wood pillars. Smoking is only allowed on the terrace.

This hotel was great and i would reconmend it to anyone who wants to stay as central as you can get in barcelona, check in was fast and they were really helpfull. The only negative i had was that the walls were a bit thin, and we had a winging kid next door who was really annoying when we were trying to have a siesta, but this was a minor thing. The rooms are very modern and well presented.

I am glad that I have chosen Olivia Plaza while I stayed in Barcelona. Modern decoration, friendly staff, convenient location..... worthwhile to stay. The only thing that I am not satisfy is the 'water' but I am not sure whether it is the problem in the whole Barcelona or only this hotel. Tap water was too salty which made me feel uncomfortable after shower.

Great centrally located hotel. Airport bus leaves off right in front of hotel. We had a front-facing room and no problem with noise. Clean comfortable rooms with ensuite minibar. Modern amenities. We enjoyed the terrace bar for drinks. No concierge if you are looking for this type of service, but the front desk staff was very helpful throughout our stay. We would highly recommend and would stay here again.

The best possible location. Steps away from Las Ramblas and the subway. We had a room away from the Plaza and it was super quiet. One problem was with the AC which did not seem to cool that well but one thing I learned was you have to keep the curtain closed in the summer or lots of radiant heat gets in. They have a GREAT breakfast buffet but way too expensive for me (20 Euros). We got food from the nearby Corte Ingles dept. store - a very nice place. The staff was pretty nice. It was expensive but that is pretty much standard for the high season in Barcelona. We were 3 people and it seemed harder to find rooms for 3.
