If you are just looking for a place to check into for a night or two, this is the place for you. I guess the rate is reasonable for its location considering that it's located in the Salamanca District. Since this is a shopping/financial district, there is aboslutely no night life after 11pm. You have to understand that the price you pay for this hotel is that it comes with no service. There is no one to help you carry your luggages to your rooms or any basic items that you might be asking for (etc. iron, extra towels). The room was clean but aren't all two star hotels clean and modern these days?
The only positive aspect about this hotel is that it's located near great shopping.

I wouldn't exactly say this is a hotel, I would describe this more as a room that you check into. I think this is probably a hotel that is suitable for people who speak the language pretty well, rather than non spanish speaking people. I say this because the hotel staff is of no help (the morning staff is not bad though). They basically are there to swipe your credit card, and they don't do it with a smile. The rooms are ok with good amenities. The area is good for shopping and thats it. Its dead after 9, and there is not a lot to see, but it is close to the metro so it is good.

I stayed here for 3 nights, its a fantastic 3 start hotel. It is clean, modern, comfortable and it is situated in a very popular up market shopping area. If you are looking for a hotel that provides a good bed a breakfast this would do very well. It does not have some things many people would expect to see in a hotel such as there is no large lounge, there is no restaurant or any leisure faculties.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during at the end of Sept 2007. This was a great boutique hotel to stay in while in Madrid. The staff was excellent. The accommodations were super. We had a room with a queen size bed. The room was large with extra high ceilings. It overlooked the quiet street of Hermosilla and was very quiet while sleeping. The air conditioner was even quiet when it was running. The location was also great, on a quiet street with many sights in walking distance - the Prado, Thyssen B, Retiro Park, Plaza Colon and Metro station. Even Plaza Mayor was in walking distance or a short metro ride. We would easily stay here again and recommend it to all of our friends.

My son and I stayed in this hotel for three nights starting Friday 4 May 2007.
It's in a great position, central yet nice and quiet. The rooms are a good size and the bathroom is quality. It's close to the metro and just round the corner from the fabulous park. The hotel is well decorated and looks classy.
The reception staff speak better English than my Spanish (not difficult) and are very friendly and helpful. Storing bags on the day of departure was no problem.
We never used the breakfast buffet prefering Viene bakery on Goye just round the corner where coffee, juice and a pastry was a bargin 3 Euros.
Three nights for just over £200 in the middle of a captial city - bargin and warmly recommended.
