Fantastic Hotel. Great breakfast- and till 11am, very friendly staff, no problem with late check out. Room huge. Cant say enough good things- will be back next year hopefully! One thing I would mention our room with king size bed was amazing - two others in our party stayed in a twin room and it was not as big or nice imo!!!

The hotel itself is well situated to the piazza maggiore and the train station. However, the staff and service are below par. For example, no toilet paper in the rooms and when we called the front desk 3 times!! they kept saying they were coming. Once they were rude and they said their colleague was doing something else. Took over 45 mins. Unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. Front desk not helpful at all. Breakfast ok, nothing special. Will not stay there again.

I cannot say enough good things about the Hotel Internazionale. I had previously stayed in Bologna in 2007 at the Best Western San Donostia. It was fine (clean, central), but the Hotel Internazionale is about the same price and it blows the Best Western out of the water! The front desk folks are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful with a lot of variety. We traveled to Venice on this trip for two days and planned to return to Bologna for another night's stay. We stored one of our suitcases with the front desk while we were gone with no doubt that it would be safe & ready for our return. And, upon our return, we were given an executive suite at no extra charge, simply because it was available! VERY nice. The hotel is in a perfect, central location. Great shopping and necessities near by, gelato-adjacent. Marble floors, huge-by-European-standards bathrooms. Highly recommended!

By my standards, this hotel was an expensive splurge. It was worth it! The woman at the reception desk was professional, helpful, kind--everything a woman traveling solo does not always find. I was thrilled above all to find a bathtub, rather than a tiny shower. The room itself was deluxe, and I had access to easy-to-use pay-by-visa internet access in the hall outside the hotel's conference facilities. Breakfast offerings were many and varied, coffee was great. Location was perfect--I walked from the train station to the hotel (with my carryon size bag), and the walk to the central piazza from the hotel was an interesting 5-10 minutes. Bologna itself took me by surprise; I liked it so much more than I expected to. It was nice, after being in primarily tourist destinations, to be somewhere "real", and I loved seeing a bookstore on every corner, with most of them having English sections. In fact, I found two English only bookstores. This was the most expensive hotel on my itinerary, but it was a welcome chance to relax and feel pampered a bit.
